Argoed Hall is an elegant Grade II listed mansion overlooking the River Dee that has been painstakingly restored to provide four luxurious holiday homes. Set in wonderful grounds, designated as Historical Gardens and with far reaching views down the Dee Valley towards Dinas Bras Castle, No. 1 Argoed Hall is a wonderful venue for family get togethers, special celebrations and holidays.The Hall is in the village of Froncysyllte, well known for its International Male Voice Choir and Brunel's famous aqueduct. Llangollen just down the road is home to the International Eisteddfod, good restaurants and shops. Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and Shrewsbury are all within easy reach.
All the character and detail of this mansion has been carefully retained by the owner, combined with modern day luxury to provide a sublime home. Granite work tops in the stunning kitchen, Egyptian cotton bed linen, fabulous comfy beds, carefully chosen furniture and soft furnishings all combine to create a unique house for you to experience.
Walk up the wide stone steps to enter No. 1 - this property is arranged over four floors. On the ground floor is the large lounge with wonderful views down the Dee Valley. This wood panelled room, complete with original fireplace and parquet flooring, is the heart of the house. Comfy leather sofas, oak furniture and TV with Freeview, DVD player, i-pod docking station with CD and radio. The original ceiling rose is such a feature of this grand room!
Downstairs to the lower ground floor, where you will find a large open plan kitchen diner with garden views. Fantastically well equipped kitchen. Granite worktops, Rangemaster cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine as well as every gadget you or your cook might require to prepare fabulous meals. There are also two sets of china and cutlery - no detail has been overlooked! Large dining table and chairs. To the rear of the kitchen is a spacious utility area with washing machine. Cloakroom with loo and wash hand basin.
Two bedrooms are found on the first floor - fantastic views from the landing window. A twin with en-suite with double shower, heated towel rail, loo and wash handbasin. All furnished with oak furniture, comfy beds, Egyptian cotton bed linen, bathrobes and slippers. Lovely views over small balcony (access not allowed). The second twin again with en-suite shower room has a wonderful bay window, taking full advantage of the views, and original marble fireplace.
On the second floor are two bedrooms. Master bedroom with double bed and wonderful views - lie in bed and look down the Dee Valley whilst enjoying your morning coffee! En-suite shower room with loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. A further double bedroom with original iron fireplace. Bathroom with roll top bath with hand held shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.
Guests are free to explore the communal grounds, set over three acres. These historic gardens include many mature trees, including magnolias and Japanese maples, and fragrant roses. Enjoy a glass of wine in the evening whilst taking in the beautiful views from the ballustraded terrace. In coming months the owners hope to restore the original grass tennis court and Victorian summer house to their former glory too!
A fabulous place to stay for a special celebration or if you are entertaining. Combine your stay with a day at Bangor on Dee or Chester races or of course the world renowned International Eisteddfod.
