An absolutely delightful Victorian terraced house with the most magnificent views of the bay and along this beautiful stretch of coastline, once home of former Prime Minister David Lloyd George, who lived at Morfin from the age of 16 for ten years, as a solicitor he had his first office in what is now the dining room!
Within a short walk from Morfin you can visit Criccieth Castle, play golf, catch a train along the beautiful Cambrian coastline or to Porthmadog where you link to the Welsh Highland Railway and travel on to the pretty village of Beddgelert in one direction or Llechwedd Slate Quarry in the other. Enjoy walking either along the coast or inland. The High Street is full of interesting individual shops, galleries, good restaurants and cafes, one of the best fish and chip shops in North Wales is just up the road, as is the famous Cadwalader's Ice Cream. Criccieth has its own lifeboat house and crew; you may see these brave men when they go out for their weekly practise.
As you walk into Morfin you can feel the pressures of everyday fall away from your shoulders. The house is peaceful, calm and relaxing, with soft colours and interesting bits and bobs - I love the lamp in the dining room and the David Lloyd George corner on the landing.
The sitting room looks towards the bay. Sitting in the bay window you can see the sea, a really relaxing room, comfy chairs, plenty of books and a splendid selection of CDs, TV with DVD. The sitting room opens into the dining room with a glass topped table and chairs, French windows opening into the garden. A step up to the long galley kitchen with electric oven and hob fridge with ice box, microwave, through to utility room with washing machine and door out to the garden.
Upstairs to two bedrooms, one pretty twin room with 2'6" beds and one double bedroom with lovely calm colours and the most wonderful view across the bay to Moel Y Gest and the hills beyond. The comfy little chair on the landing is just the place to sit and day dream, or spend an hour or two reading some of the interesting collection books on David Lloyd George, the only Welsh Prime Minister and 1st Earl of Dwyfor! Two steps down into the bathroom with bath and shower, loo and wash hand basin. Upstairs again to another lovely double bedroom with even more magnificent views, and tucked away is a very neat little wet room with loo and wash hand basin.
