Accommodation Details

Blochdy Farmhouse now called Tyddyn Albert dates back to 1610. Blochdy cottage was once the cowshed and stable to the farmhouse. Clever conversion and imaginative use of old wood created the cottage that has given many happy holidays to returning guests. Blochdy is attached to the farmhouse where the owners live and run their business of breeding working Cocker Spaniels. The owners do respect your need for privacy.

Each year the welcoming hosts, Ross and Eira, try and make little changes. This year there are great changes in the twin bedroom, new twin beds and lovely egyptian cotton bedding on all the beds!

This traditional quaint cottage is an ideal base from which to enjoy walks along the Coastal Footpath or cycle rides along the quiet well marked cycle tracks, the wonderful beach at Llanddwyn is a short drive or bike ride away as are Plas Newydd, The Model Village, Sea Zoo and Foel Farm Park.

The cottage is ideal for a family holiday - the large lawned garden is ideal for football and outdoor games - grown ups can relax and enjoy the panoramic view of Snowdonia stretching from the Carneddau to the Rivals - backdrop to the Menai Straits and Caernarfon Castle.

The open plan sitting room with comfy chairs and sofa set around the corner fireplace which has an amazing collection of gleaming brass on the chimney breast. TV, video, DVD and Freeserve. A galley style kitchen overlooks the sitting room and is equipped with new ceramic electric cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Enjoy meals either in the new conservatory which has wonderful views or there is a table in the sitting room. Children love climbing the ladder to the gallery where there is a single bunk bed for the occasional guests. This is accessed by a ladder and has open railings so is not suitable for small children.

Two bedrooms both overlook the garden: one double room and one twin bedded room. The bathroom has shower over the bath, wash hand basin and loo. Back boiler provides central heating and hot water in the winter months or there is an immersion heater and electric heaters in each bedroom for cooler nights.

An interesting cottage in a beautiful location. Ideally situated for Snowdonia, the Menai Straits and the stunning local beaches.

If you don't appreciate dogs this may not be the ideal holiday cottage for you as the owners have working gun dogs and breed pedigree spaniels. The kennels are very close to the cottage and the dogs are hard to avoid. Mrs D Willison
