Accommodation Details

One of two cottages forming part of this splendid farmhouse which dates back to the 16th Century. Braich Yr Saint Bach sleeps 6 and next door, Bwthyn Deunawd sleeps 4, ideal for families and friends holidaying together but wanting a little independence. The wonderful farmhouse kitchen table in this house is large enough to seat everyone.

Braich Y Saint Bach is mid way between Porthmadog and Criccieth - an excellent location for wonderful sandy beaches, the mountains of Snowdonia, Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways, Criccieth Castle and nearby Harlech, with masses of good places to eat in both towns, or you can just relax in this peaceful setting and do nothing.

As you walk through the splendid oak door you feel as if you are taking a step back in time. Like many of these old old houses, the rooms are large but quite dark and higgledy piggledy with lots of interesting nooks and crannies, not for those wanting a minimalist and contemporary style.

A traditional farmhouse kitchen with AGA, slate floors, a splendid scrubbed ktichen table with benches and the old settle adding to the ambience of this room, equipped with electric hob, AGA, microwave, fridge freezer and TV. Up and down the original slate steps to utility room with dishwasher, washing machine and door out to the garden. Bathroom with bath and shower over, loo and wash hand basin. Two bedrooms downstairs, a twin room and double bedroom. Up the original slate steps to a wonderful huge sitting room with original A frame beamed ceiling, beautiful wobbly oak floors, wood burning stove set into the inglenook fireplace, sofas and chairs and another settle, TV with DVD.

A further bedroom with shower room, loo and wash hand basin.

Outside there is an enclosed garden with garden furniture.

A very different, interesting house in a beautiful peaceful location on a working farm which is kept entirely separate from the holiday cottages.
