The Lleyn Peninsula is truly a beautiful part of the world and in our opinion there is no better place to view it than from the gardens of Bron y Garth Hall. This historic house steeped in history sits commandingly on a headland between the idyllic bay of Borth y Gest and the popular seaside town of Porthmadog. The gardens here are delightful, large mature rhododendrons line the drive, pretty nooks and crannies to explore and relax in and of course the views which are breathtaking.The bright colour schemes and bold paintings set the tone in this apartment whilst the high ceilings and timber windows remind you that you are in a house of much grandeur. A great cheerful kitchen and combined dining room, spacious and practical, big windows let the light flood in. This is a great room for relaxed meals after a day out. The large sitting room upstairs is comfortable and unique with bold colours, both in the paintings and on the walls! My favourite part of the West Wing is the little balcony off the sitting room which has a table and chairs, the perfect setting to unwind with a gin and tonic after a day of exploring this enchanting part of North Wales. Two bedrooms, a double and a twin room, the bathroom has wash hand basin, loo, bath with shower over. The house is cosy for the winter as well.
Porthmadog has much to do and there are plenty of shops and restaurants - try Yr Hen Fecws. The Welsh Highland Railway meets the Ffestiniog Railway in Porthmadog so you can hop on a train and explore the area and soak up the fantastic scenery. Borth y Gest is a five minute walk from the house and dinner at The Moorings Bistro is highly recommended. Whether you are looking for a holiday to relax and let the world go by or looking for a base from which to explore, you won't ever tire of returning to Bron y Garth.
Also available at Bron y Garth Hall are the Coach House (sleeps 6) and the South Wing (sleeps 6) - booked together, all three properties can accommodate 16 guests.
