The signs at the end of the lane to Bryn Mor read - 'Red Squirrel Area!' The second sign reads - 'Frogs! Please be careful to avoid the Frogs' and the third sign is for the Anglesey Coastal Path. The view is spectacular!!Bryn Mor is in a beautiful, peaceful corner of Anglesey with a long golden sandy beach. You can walk over for a pint at the Ship Inn at Red Wharf Bay, depending on the tide! Masses of wildlife and a short stroll to join the Anglesey Coastal Footpath. All this and a wonderful, welcoming and relaxing house with breathtaking views!!
The sitting room is a delight - a clever mix of 1930s and contemporary furnishing. Bright and relaxing in the summer and cosy and snug in the winter. It has solid oak floors, bright blue cheerful sofas, 1930s open fire, flat screen TV with DVD, and a good selection of DVDs and board games. Bose i-pod dock with CD player and a great collection of books. A step up from the sitting room takes you to the intimate winter dining room with a lovely table and benches, and French windows opening on to the terrace.
The kitchen is small and equipped with an electric AGA, electric two ring hob, convection microwave oven and dishwasher. The larder houses the fridge. Two steps up to the pantry area where the shelves are stacked with white china and gleaming glasses, a further fridge and deep freeze. The utility area has a washing machine and tumble drier.
Downstairs shower room with shower, loo and wash hand basin - great for coming in from the beach.
The terrace dining room is a Wow with a capital W!! A long table with seating for 10, with a traditional fisherman's light above the table and the most magnificent views. The dining room opens on to the terrace, just perfect to sit and soak up the views and the sunshine - bliss, bliss!!
Upstairs to four bedrooms each one with a wash hand basin: one double bedroom with French windows opening on to a dear little decked balcony complete with fisherman's lamp, and glorious views. The second double room also has fab views - you can sit on the bed with your morning cup of tea and look out to sea!! A twin room - I love the old railway station maps. The fourth room is small double bedroom with rural views.
The bathroom is in keeping with the rest of this lovely house - tongue and groove walls and ceiling and there is a shower over the bath, loo and wash hand basin.
What a fabulous location for a holiday or short break!!
A truly lovely house in a stunning location. Plenty of space for our party (six adults, one toddler and two infants) and bags of character thrown in. Red Wharf Bay is only a short walk down a quiet, leafy lane and the towns of Beaumaris and Menai Bridge within a 10-15 minute drive. Mrs C Cooke
We came to Bryn Mor for 45 years every Easter. After missing a few years we were able to return with my children and grandchildren who loved every minute.The house has been lovingly improved and we hope to go on returning. Lady Grenfell-Baines
