Accommodation Details
This former chapel has new owners who have completely refurbished this
wonderful property which looks out onto Snowdon. They have gone to
great lengths to retain its quirky charm, mixing the old with the
contemporary to create a cosy, fun, bright holiday house.
It
sits in a quiet village just ten minutes drive to Llanberis, gateway to
Snowdonia, and just fifteen minutes drive to the coast and the historic
town of Caernarfon. Among its attractions, Llanberis boasts the Snowdon
Mountain Railway, Electric Mountain, the Welsh Slate Museum, boating on
Lake Padarn, cycle and canoe hire and activity days organised by local
adventure centre Surf Lines. You can also cross the Menai Straits to
visit some of Anglesey's fine beaches and coastline.
Upstairs is
the splendid sitting room which has an arched ceiling and beams,
stripped pine floors and unusual central fireplace open on all four
sides surrounded by comfy chairs and sofas. TV with DVD and CD player.
From one end, views from a huge window to Snowdon. The other end
overlooks the kitchen and dining area.
The newly-fitted kitchen
is equipped with electric cooker and hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave
and plenty of cooking utensils. French doors open on to the terrace,
with table and chairs for al fresco eating, and a lawn. The dining area
has farmhouse table and benches. Freezer under the stairs and washing
machine and dryer in the utility room. Hanging space for coats and
boots.
Four bedrooms. Two double, one with brand new en suite
shower room with walk in shower, loo and basin. The shower can also be
accessed from the rest of the downstairs as can the large bathroom,
with steps down to bath. The second double room has a wash hand basin.
One twin room and one room with a single bed.
An enclosed garden and parking for two cars at the front of the house.
We have just spent a week in this amazing property-and would certainly recommend it to others.We were warm and comfortable during a rather cold,grey and windy week,and the bed was blissfully comfortable too!It was extremely well equipped and appointed,and all fittings and furnishings were in good condition.Our only sjight concern on arrival was the slightly risky parking area,which we felt was not really "off road"-but all was well.We were on holiday with our two dogs,who settled in well and didn't seem to mind the wooden stairs-they didn't take any notice when a sheep squeezed through the fence into the garden!We will definitely return to this property as there is still so much to see and do in this scenic area of Wales. We stayed here in June 2010 taking with us our 18 month old daughter. The cottage was amazing and very child friendly with an enclosed rear garden and stair gates. We had a wonderful time here, it has been beautifully and sypathetically restored. Would recommend this to any young family and we hope to stay here again one day. Kat
I know this is late arriving to you from our holiday we experienced 15th August to 22nd August 2009 but I just felt i needed to let you know how fabulous the above accommodation was. The bed line was exceptionally fresh and the accommodation was very well stocked with everything you could ever want from a holiday home. With the outstanding views of Snowdon (on a clear day - our last) and the beautiful surrounding countryside, we will definitely consider another holiday in Wales. I would recommend the chapel to anyone that asked me where to stay in Wales.
You should also congratulate yourselves on superb pre-holiday service which kept us well informed of any changes right up to the date we left for our holiday.
