Accommodation Details
Cefn Isaf has ben beautifully converted by the owner and her architect
husband. No expense has been spared in retaining the integrity and
original structure of this lovely building which the owners have
combined with all the comforts and luxuries of the 21st century.
Welsh slates on the roof, exposed oak beams, oak floors, combined
with antique and contemporary furniture, pretty fabrics and rugs create
a delightful holiday retreat to be enjoyed and appreciated.
Dating
from the 19th century this former barn was part of a traditional Welsh
farm, a peaceful haven with wonderful open views of the countryside,
sheep quietly grazing in the fields in the front of the house, you will
hear ravens, see buzzards and in the evenings you may catch sight of an
owl.The flora and fauna in this area is breathtaking, with a fabulous
sandy beach at Black Rock, just a mile away is the Ffestiniog and the
newly opened Welsh Highland Railways, it is only a short drive to the
italianate village of Portmerion designed by the owners great uncle the
influential 20th century architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis.
The
splendid sitting room with exposed beams has the most fabulous venetian
glass light hanging down above the deep comfy sofas and chairs set
around the double sided fireplace which interconnects the sitting room
with the dining room. French windows open from both dining and sitting
room on to the west facing terrace.
There is a fantastic view
from the kitchen sink which is equipped to a high standard with
dishwasher, electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and
delightful hand decorated tiles by Bronwyn Williams-Ellis CRA
The utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer and second sink with no view!
Four
charming bedrooms, oak floors, beamed ceilings and pretty fabrics add
to the charm and romance of these room's. Downstairs has two bedrooms,
one with a King size bed and a view to the west the other with twin
beds and French windows opening on to a small terrace.
In between the bedrooms the shower room has shower loo and wash hand basin plus under floor heating and heated towel rail.
Upstairs
are two bedrooms and two bathrooms; the small twin bedroom is next to a
small bathroom with bath, loo and wash hand basin. The double bedroom
has splendid views, King size bed, pretty window overlooking the
sitting and dining room, dressing room and en suite bathroom with loo
bath and wash hand basin.
A fabulous house - it is romantic, it
is quixotic, it is vernacular, it is relaxing, it is comfy for
families, it is comfy for friends, it is quite an exceptional house.
