Accommodation Details

In the 1930s Garreg Felan was a thriving village smithy. Still owned by the same family, the house has been transformed to a delightful, welcoming holiday cottage with a very pretty enclosed garden. Great care has been taken in transforming this house into a relaxing, warm, friendly cottage.

A great location just a short drive from Llanddwyn Beach and Nature Reserve which is a carpet of fantastic wild flowers in the spring, round to the bird hides at Malltraeth, and then on to the wonderful surfing beaches at Rhosneigr. In the other direction Plas Newydd, the home of the Marquis of Anglesey, now owned by the National Trust and well worth visiting for the wonderful gardens, good tea rooms and home to one of Whistler's great paintings. From here you can take a boat trip on the Menai Strait to see the famous bridges linking Anglesey to the mainland.

The comfy sitting room has leather sofas scattered with lovely bright pink cushions, flame effect electric fire set in the open fireplace, TV with Freeview, DVD and plenty of books. Dining room with a radiator and sofa to one end, which makes a pleasant area to retreat to with a book.

The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and plenty of utensils and the sink overlooks the pretty garden.

The wet room has walk in shower equipped with handrails, loo and wash hand basin, and shaver point. The bunk bedroom is also downstairs. Upstairs to two bedrooms, one with splendid wooden double bed and one twin bedded room.

Outside the utility room has a sink, ideal for rinsing swimsuits! Washing machine, tumble drier and deep freeze.

The garden is delightful with pretty borders, decked patio area with table and chairs, completely enclosed and ideal for al fresco meals.

I love the extra touches throughout this house, the splendid wooden bed upstairs and the chair on the landing with the Welsh tapestry throw, the sofa in the dining room, which is well lit and close to a radiator so you can snuggle up with a good book and still be in the heart of the house.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Garreg Felan. The cottage was perfect and the garden beautiful, luckily the weather was fantastic and we were able to enjoy the garden to the full. We had a slight hiccup with the electricity on the Sunday but the owners responded quickly and it was resolved within a couple of hours. Helen Mofflin & Family

We loved this cottage and all felt relaxed as soon we walked through the front door. Very well equipped and well presented. The back garden is a real sun trap and we were able to sit out with a drink even though it was only the first week in April! Abbey the labrador loved the garden too. The Lamb Family
