This recently updated cottage is an absolute gem set in the delightful village of Maentwrog, a short stroll to the well known pub The Grapes which has a fantastic reputation for good food.
The village of Maentwrog is in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, mid way between Harlech and Porthmadog, just 20 minutes to Criccieth and a little further to Pwllheli. There is masses to do, many lovely walks from the front door, fabulous beaches at both Harlech and Black Rock Sands at Porthmadog, The Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways, Portmerion, the list is endless. Or, just relax in the beautiful garden which is a mass of colour in the spring and summer and the autumn colours are breathtaking.
A delightful garden cottage looking over the wonderfully tended gardens, Greystons is romantic, relaxing and cosy and snug in the winter. two minutes walk from the pub - you could ask for no more!
The sitting room is carefully furnished with antique furniture, subtle lighting and a wood burning stove set in to the deep inglenook fireplace make it so snug and cosy in the winter. The garden terrace is just the place for alfresco meals. A bright, light contemporary kitchen. with electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and microwave. The washing machine is outside, not literally! The shower room has a power shower, loo and wash hand basin. Again attention to detail has made the double bedroom romantic and welcoming - there are slippers & bathrobes provided, it is like a little boutique hotel! The friendly owners are close by and always on hand to help, offering the warmest of welcomes!
Outside there is a pretty terrace overlooking the gardens with table and chairs, little night lights so you can enjoy the long summer evenings.
A thousand thankyous to you both for providing such a haven for two very weary travellers! Your hospitality is well documented in the visitors book and is rightly deserved. A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in an ideal location for exploring Snowdonia and the coastline. The garden is lovely in any weather and the local pub (The Grapes Hotel - 30 yards away) serves good food. The owners made us feel very welcome with advice on local walks and sights - the breakfast, milk and wine package was very much appreciated! This is an ideal cottage for those looking for peace and quiet in a lovely part of Wales. Paul Jackson
This is a wonderful,well equipped, cosy cottage for two,with a lovely terrace and garden area, great power shower,and a comfy bed.We had a lovely relaxing week here.The owners have thought of everything, even down to dressing gowns and slippers.The welcome pack of food was a great touch as well.Great location for exploring snowdonia and the lleyn penisula. We had a wonderful week at Greystones. The cottage is larger than it seems in the photos here but still with that great cosy feel. The new kitchen and large walk-in shower were also fantastic. And the location is great for exploring all of North Wales. I highly recommend this cottage! Becky
