Accommodation
In the pretty streets of Beaumaris, a town famed for its Georgian architecture and beautiful views of the Snowdonia mountain range, is a delightful cottage called Hafan. Never has a cottage been more aptly named! Hafan meaning haven in Welsh, is exactly that. Shut the doors behind you and indulge in the stylish tranquillity this cottage offers. I think there is no better place to recharge your batteries and relax than here. Even in this bustling town where there is always something happening, from sailing regattas to festivals, you could be a million miles from anywhere in the sun trapped courtyard at the back of the house. The owners have paid so much attention to detail - stylish prints and a soothing colour scheme as well as sumptuous soft furnishings, all sure to welcome you and entice you to return again and again.
Beaumaris is a world heritage site and has so much to do. The castle is well worth exploring and there are so many shops and places to eat or drink you will be hard pressed to do it all in a week! Ye Olde Bulls Head located in the town centre is a must for good ales and crackling log fires or there is the more refined LLoft Restaurant. If you like the pictures in Hafan these can be seen and bought on the high street at the Janet Bell Gallery. I recommend a picnic on the pebble beach next to the road to Llangoed, the views are spectacular. For golfers there are two golf courses, Baron Hill and Henllys Hall and for walkers The Anglesey Coastal path is only minutes from the front door too! Sailing too is a big part of life in Beaumaris.
Open the door to Hafan and see how perfectly formed this cottage is! Immediately you will see a welcoming sitting room with soft neutral colours and comfy inviting sofas. At one end of the room, by the window, there is a dining table with plenty of room to seat six people, a large fire place with gas fire adding warmth and cosiness that guests look for in the winter months but with so much light from the atrium and the large folding doors in the kitchen, perfect for summertime too.
Through to the glorious kitchen and a further sitting area. An atrium crowns this room and modern floor to ceiling radiators add to the modern twist in this part of the house. The kitchen has granite worktops and an island and it's own TV. It is a cooks' kitchen very well equipped. Large folding doors open out to an idyllic courtyard completely enclosed and private, an ideal space for a romantic meal lit by stars and candlelight!
Upstairs to three bedrooms, a double room looking out of the front of the house, furnished with pine furniture. The middle room is so bright and airy the morning sunshinepours in to gently lift you out of your blissful sleep in these super comfy beds. The final bedroom is a bunkroom ideally configured for children but the lower part is a double bed and would be fine for grownups!
