The name says it all! Harbourside is a delightful holiday cottage, the type you see in Coast Magazine and wish!
Borth Y Gest is a hidden gem yet only a stones throw from the bustling town of Porthmadog, the pretty half moon bay is surrounded by painted cottages, little sandy coves, coastal walks and wonderful views of the mountains. If you leave this dear little village there is masses to do. Within a short drive you have Porthmadog home to Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways, the Italianate village of Portmerion, wonderful beaches, the glorious mountains of Snowdonia and you are not far from Cader Idris, castles, historic houses, gardens, galleries and interesting shops.
Harbourside House has been sympathetically refurbished by the owners, who have cleverly retained the character of the house combing old and new, slate floors in the kitchen and shower rooms, original polished wood floor boards with rugs in the sitting room , stone fireplace, farmhouse furniture mixed with contemporary soft furnishings, colours and pretty bits and bobs throughout, I will be booking this cottage.
Lovely, bright, relaxing sitting room with a wood burning stove set into a stone fireplace, original wood floors, comfy sofas and comfy window seats with views across the harbour, TV with sky freeview. Such a pretty kitchen with slate floors, scubbed wooden table where you can relax over holiday meals on the comfy L shaped pew which has come from the local church, pretty mugs and china on the dresser. The dining area opens on to a small terrace which is lovely to have open in the summer. Up two steps to the kitchen which is very well equipped with fridge freezer, range gas cookers, microwave, dishwasher and all the utensils you could need, Ipod dock. Spacious large shower with large shower head and lashings of hot water, loo, hand wash basin and heated towel rail, the utility room is great for hanging walking and boating gear and has a washing machine.
Upstairs to three pretty bedrooms, two double bedrooms and single bedroom, family bathroom, again with slate floors (mind the little step), bath with hand held shower, loo and wash hand basin, heated towel rail. Upstairs to a further single bedroom, TV for playstation, wonderful room for children.
Outside steps from the little terrace yard to garden with table and chairs.
