Accommodation Details
This delightful terraced house, just a stone's throw from the beach, is more like a boutique hotel than a holiday cottage - we will deliver cooked meals to you so a boutique hotel it could be!! Beautifully presented, bright and chirpy and at the same time sophisticated, calm and relaxing. A short stroll to the beach where the view is spectacular looking across the sea to Harlech with a back drop of the hills behind, day and night this view is fantastic. This fine seaside town retains a wonderful old fashioned charm whilst still being contemporary. The butcher offers local produce, the green grocer displays his fruit and veg on the street, Idris Bakery is fantastic and supplies the Portmeirion chefs!! Excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes. Criccieth is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a break or holiday at any time of the year and this house is perfectly located for the town and surrounding attractions.
The owners have taken such care in renovating and restoring Maelgwyn - careful colour schemes combined with wooden floors, contemporary bathrooms, a bright and fun kitchen and the master bedroom is just glorious.
The sitting room is comfy and relaxing, wooden floors, living flame gas fire, leather sofas, flat screen TV, CD player. If you want to have a little peace and quiet double doors take you through to another smaller sitting room with a CD player. The kitchen combines with the dining room, it is bright and contemporary. I think it has a bistro feel with it's bright gingham table cloth, interesting tiling, wooden floors and a TV on the wall. Equipped for good cooks with a range cooker, american fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and radio. Door out to lovely courtyard with table and seating for 8 people, where you can enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine in this little sun trap.
Upstairs to two double bedrooms both with brass king size beds. The second room has a pretty bay window where you can sit and take in the view down to the beach or relax away from the hubbub of the house and watch a little TV. The panelled bathroom has bath, with separate shower, wash hand basin and loo, there is also a separate loo and basin. Upstairs to two twin rooms with Ipod docking stations - I love the gorgeous knitted cushions and again interesting colours and textiles. You can lie in bed here and look over to Criccieth Castle. Bathroom with bath with shower over, loo and wash hand basin.
This is a really fantastic holiday house. You will enjoy the house as much as Criccieth and the surrounding area. A great house for special occasions or Christmas and New Year get togethers.
