Accommodation Details
The restoration of this Grade 2 Listed mill has been truly a labour of love in more ways than one. The end result is "a superb property in a superb location", in the words of George Clarke from the Channel 4 programme, The Restoration Man. I wholeheartedly agree and am delighted to have this splendid and unique property in our portfolio! The craftsmanship is superb, the interior carefully brings together the 19th Century with the 21st Century offering style, comfort and luxury, a simply fantastic retreat for special or romantic holidays. From the viewing balcony you have far reaching views across rural Anglesey, historically known as the granary of Wales, to the mountains of Snowdonia and the sea.
The mill dates from the 19th Century and is thought to be one of the last mills built on the island. Owned by the Meyrick family the mill was all but destroyed by a storm in 1920 and sat derelict until Clive Bolton completed this marvellous restoration.
The round ground floor is a fabulous open plan room combining the kitchen with dining area and comfy sitting "room". The mix of stone tiled floors, spiral staircase, wooden timbers and subtle lighting add to the uniqueness of this bright welcoming space. I love the kitchen with carefully chosen units that complement the granite tops and stone tiled floors. It is extremely well equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a wall mounted flat screen TV with freeview, CD player and the comfy leather sofas are set in front of the flame effect fire; dining table and chairs.
Up the spiral staircase to a double bedroom with fantastic beams and pretty lighting, The bathroom has a corner shower, bath, loo and wash hand basin. The spiral staircase takes you up again to another double bedroom and again such detail has gone into the lighting, pictures and presentation, en suite shower room with shower, loo and wash hand basin.
A beautifully crafted staircase takes you up to the top of the windmill and this very unique sitting room has floor to ceiling windows and a viewing balcony with 360 degree views - not for the faint hearted!
A very unusual and interesting place to stay, close to the beaches and a short drive to Snowdonia. This will book very quickly and is a wonderful destination for honeymoons and romantic weekends!
If you are holidaying with family or friends, the neighbouring properties, the Top Barn and Owl Cottage are also available. If booked together, the three properties sleep a total of 12.

We had a very enjoyable holiday in the windmill. Despite variable weather we were totally cosy and content and very, very comfortable. The addition of meals delivered by Cottage Suppers at the start of the holiday provided the icing on the cake with excellent food without any cooking on our part at all. Margaret Helliwell
Melin Newydd was truly amazing, we celebrated halloween, my 50th birthday and bonfire night in style. Everything you could wish for in an away from it all location. Our only regret was not staying for 2 weeks! Mandy Urmson
