Accommodation Details
If you want a quiet little retreat with sea views this is the house for you. Mews Cottage is in the heart of Criccieth, a delightful seaside village with its own castle built at the beginning of the 13th century, great places to eat, interesting shops - selling fresh local produce. Try the fantastic bread at Idris Cafe with a freshly dressed lobster or crab from Selective Seafoods who supply the green grocer and fishmonger on the High Street.
A short drive will take you to many wonderful places - Snowdonia, the unspoilt Cambrian Coast to Harlech with another great castle, the Italianate village at Portmerion or the Welsh Highland Railway. Criccieth has its own beach or you can walk round the corner to Black Rock Sands and there are many wonderful coastal walks.
An unusual looking grey stone cottage with its entrance tucked behind the hedge - you could almost miss it, but open the door and you will be amazed - it is a delight I think....a bright cheerful open plan sitting room with open fire, bliss to snuggle up on a winters evening after a lovely day out, or linger over supper soaking up the view across the bay from the dining table. The tiny kitchen is just amazing, equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge. There is a small utility room with a washer/dryer and a fridge freezer. Bathroom with shower, loo and wash hand basin. Upstairs to a fab double bedroom, beautifully presented, looking out over the roof tops.
Stroll down to the beach and sit on one of benches along the front and watch the world go by. You may even see the lifeboat go out on a practise exercise. Just enjoy this quaint little house.
Mews Cottage is being extended winter 2011 and as of 2012 will accomodate 4 people. Watch this space!

This is a lovely property for one or two people to stay in. It is in the centre of the the village with easy access to all the shops and pubs. There are two beaches within a 5 min walk, one of them via the local chippie, get your fish & chips and carry on to the beach to eat them. Don't forget your bottle of wine.
The attractions of the Llyn peninsular are wonderful especially the Nation Trust beaches. The northern ones can be difficult to find but are well worth the effort. On the whole the cottage is good value for money and there is a great view if the castle from the bedroom window. Michael Van-de-Velde
