Accommodation Details

I visit many refurbished cottages and barns and this is one of the nicest I have seen for a long time! Set in the most idyllic setting with the pasture land gently giving way to the hills behind, you can hear the Afon Llyfni singing its way down to the sea which you can see from the front of the house - just everything that you come on holiday for!!

The house has been beautifully refurbished and enormous care has been taken to retain the character of this pretty cottage.  The inglenook fireplace still has the original bread oven, there are oak lintels above the windows, little nooks and crannies and the odd exposed stone here and there to remind you of the history of this former farm house.

Close to lovely beaches and coves all along the Lleyn coast, which has wonderful walks on the coastal path. Pontllyfni is the nearest beach and is sandy when the tide is out.  You will find good food at the Beuno or the Harp, which are close by and the garage in the village has a small shop.

The inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove makes this a great cottage to stay in the winter as well as the summer, and has oak floors with rugs, flat screen TV and DVD. The snug sitting room with a sofa bed which can be used as an extra bedroom (please ask) is glorious.  The sun pours in and you can throw open the French windows and step out into the garden to soak up the peace and tranquillity.

I love the kitchen with farmhouse table and chairs, which is very well equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge; the washing machine and freezer are in the utility room which also has a sink.

Downstairs shower room with shower, loo and wash hand basin.

Upstairs to three bedrooms.  There are two double bedrooms, one of which has a four foot bed, and a bunk bedroom. The bathroom has bath with shower over, loo, wash hand basin and ladder radiator.

This newly refurbished property is out of this world and we have just booked to come here again. The area is so peaceful and quiet and the scones etc that the farmer leaves are yummy. The fire place is somthing else and on cold evenings it is heaven. isobel michael isobel michael

We have just stayed at this beautiful cottage. The setting and furnishings made it a lovely relaxing stay and I know we will be coming back again, especially the home made scones delicious!!!

We have just returned from a lovely week at Pen Y Bont. The house has been beautifully restored from two former farm cottages and the result is wonderful. I loved the spacious kitchen and dining area. The house was spotlessly clean and the decor extremely elegant and stylish. The setting is wonderfully peaceful and it was a pleasure to sit outside and enjoy the sound of the birds and the river. We spent a couple of days on the lovely beach at Morfa Nevin and the drive back along the coast in the evening sunshine was stunning. We really didn't want to leave at the end of the week and hope to return next year. Gwyneth Lawson

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at Pen y Bont and both feel this is the best self catering accommodation we've stayed in - both at home and abroad. It's extremely well equipped, very spacious and has lots of outside space. The cottage feels very rural but has great access to the Llynn Peninsula and Snowdonia.
