Perthi Uchaf is an encompassment of Welsh country living. This beautiful Eighteenth Century former farmhouse is comfortable and cosy in the winter and in the summer just throw open those windows and doors and let the crystal clear air of the sea and mountains come in and heighten your senses!The house itself was built in the Eighteenth century and was lovingly restored 10 years ago by the current owner, himself a carpenter. The oak floor and beams were even made from a nearby fallen tree and is indicative of the traditional style in which the cottage is moulded. An enourmous inglenook fireplace with its large log burning stove is the focal point of a very comfortable sitting room and just a wonderful place to sit and relax or plan your day to visit some of the many things on your doorstep.
The kitchen is well equipped and welcoming with all the modern comforts that guests have come to expect of a 5 star graded property. To me, any cottage with a Rayburn arouses that wonderfully nostalgic feeling of slow cooked casseroles and large glasses of wine, good company and weary legs from a long days walk in Snowdonia!
There are three bedrooms upstairs, each in keeping with the traditions of the house. Antique beds, soft furnishings and colour schemes all add to this cottage's charm. Double room with ensuite shower room, loo and wash hand basin, two twin rooms. There is a bathroom upstairs with a bath, sink, shaving point and loo as well as a shower head over the bath
The outside of Perthi Uchaf is private - such a serene setting. An ancient water wheel is still in the garden where they used to churn the butter using the flowing stream alongside the house. There is a small outbuilding with a washing machine and tumble dryer and an abundance of logs for the fire. The house is surrounded by three acres of land where the owners keep their award winning Welsh Black Cattle with Mount Snowdon as its backdrop.
just had a week here over xmas, it was wonderful...so cosey, everything u could wish for over the festive period, we would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to get away from it all...thanks to the owners michael and janis for the finishing touches on our arrival, warm mince pies were just the job xxxxx donna harris-jones
