Accommodation

This former lighthouse keeper's cottage together with its neighbouring cottage, West Keeper's Cottage, can accommodate a party of 12 people.

This cottage is simply fantastic, beautifully presented and in an outstanding, breathtaking location with ocean views. A mass of flora and fauna, porpoises, dolphins, birds, carpets of wild flowers in the spring. A short walk along the coastal footpath brings you down to the pretty sandy cove of Llaneilian where you can explore the rock pools, bathe or just lie and soak up the scenery.

East Keeper's cottage is a blissfully romantic retreat carefully and sympathetically restored by the owners who have found all sorts of interesting soft furnishings and bits and bobs, which add to the ambience of this delightful cottage.

Sleeping six in three lovely bedrooms, all made upwith finest Egyptian linen. Two double bedrooms, one with a king size bed, and a twin bedroom. All the bedrooms have hand wash basins. Shower room with large corner shower, loo and wash hand basin, heated towel radiator. Another shower room with toilet, wash hand basin and heated towel radiator.

The sitting and dining room are semi open plan with an open fireplace connecting the two rooms, polished wooden floors, deep comfy sofas around the fireplace make this a really relaxing room; TV, DVD and CD player, through to the dining room where the views through the large pine window are even more breathtaking than the sitting room view. Relax around the farmhouse table with slate mats and watch the moon lighting up the sea or the setting sun.

A fantastic house in an amazing location.

**Extra logs available at £5.00/ basket or alternatively they can be purchased at the local garage.

***No fog horn to detract you from bookings this lovely seaside property

Visitor Comments

An April week in East and West Cottages with bright sunshine, some cloud but little rain brought delight. A generous, prettily laid tea was laid when we arrived, complete with birthday cake, scones and cream and strawberries with chocolate eggs for the Easter Sunday hunt for the children. Morning sun on the breakfast table in East Cottage, sunsets from West Cottage sitting room; access to the lighthouse with the keepers and the chance for children to activate the foghorn; choughs feeding outside the windows and ponies grazing; warmth and comfort to return to or for those who had some work to do, reading or painting to enjoy, clarinet to practise! The Great Orme and the mountains came and went with the visibility but the sea - calm and rough - was always there to hear and watch in the changing light; porpoises were only glimpsed once (thank you, gulls, for alerting us; one small adder spotted; swallows arrived in small groups and terns in plenty at Cemlyn Bay and diving at full tide in Church Bay and off Llanddwyn;seals basking off Llanddwyn Island; twice the Isle of Man appeared on the horizon at sunset. We criss-crossed the island from Llanddwyn to Llugwy; from South Stack and Porthdafarch to Moel y Don; from Church Bay to North Stack (open studio) and Oriel Ynys Mon (gallery). The coastal path was explored in both directions from "home" on Point Lynas, in sections on Holy Island and towards Carmel Point from Church Bay. Children were free to use the little road from the cottages to Porth Eilian - by bike, scooters (the 2 4 year-olds)or on foot. Adults (some of them)went for runs in the morning; cooking was shared between all and in both cottages; games were played. Discreetly in the background but always friendly and helpful Iona and Robin had provided exactly what I had hoped for: a memorable return to Anglesey (where I spent many childhood years) with 17 of my family (some in another cottage). I hope I shall return, with whomever I can entice (should be easy)to join me. Robin and Iona, beware! And thank you. Ellen Cockburn

What a delight. High standard of accommodation, very peacefull location and friendly hosts and wildlife.
Would highly reccommend this property.
