Accommodation

Raven is one of seven stone built cottages set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by lovely countryside and views of the coastline in this quiet, south-western corner of Anglesey. The cottages were winners of the 'Best Self-Catering Establishment of the Year', sponsored by InOut Magazine at the 2011 Anglesey Tourism Awards.Glan Morfa has recently been awarded an area of significance by Dark Skies Discovery, identifying it as one of the best locations in the UK for stargazing and astronomy!

At Raven Cottage you are surrounded by 37 acres of land with two lakes, well marked walks and abundant wildlife. The long, golden sands of Llanddwyn Island and the towering pines of Newborough Forest are about 10 minutes away by car, or you can join the cycle route at the top of the drive.

The owners have gone to great lengths in presenting the cottages to the standard they themselves expect when they go on holiday, but without damaging the environment that makes these cottages so stunning. The cottages' heating and lighting is supplied by solar and wind energy and a reed bed system takes away the waste water, so you can enjoy your holiday knowing you are doing your bit to reduce the carbon foot print.

Inside, the open plan living/dining room has stunning views, a comfy sofa and chairs, flat screen TV and DVD player with a dining table and chairs to one side. The kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer compartment.

This cottage comfortably sleeps four people in a double and twin bedroom. There is a great shower room with a slate tiled floor, spacious modern shower, loo, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and shaver point.

There is a well stocked village shop in Llangaffo, with good selection of DVDs.

If you are holidaying in a group, Raven Cottage can be booked together with its neighbouring cottages and the communal reception area can double as the perfect function room for you all to get together (please be aware that Internet access is available at reception and not in the houses) . Please enquire for details.

Visitor Comments

We really enjoyed our short break on Anglesey combined with Bangor University's open day. Cottage was very comfortable and well furnished. Chris could not have been more helpful in suggesting places to visit. We particularly enjoyed cycling in Newborough forest and along the coast. We look forward to returning. Walsle family

Had a great weeks stay at Raven Cottage - a lovely cottage with a warm welcome from Chris who was ready with plenty of good advice about places to visit and things to do! Great views from everywhere!! We enjoyed Newborough forest walks and beach, well worth a visit. We spotted a couple of red squirrels at Plan Newydd and enjoyed Benllech beach (although a bit busy). Also a nice walk along the coast at Amlwch. Llangefni has a few shops, including an ASDA for bits and pieces and is not too far away. We have had a lovely week, thank you! Lowri and family

We stayed at Raven cottage the first two weeks of June2012, and this must be one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. The decor and build quality of the cottages at Glan Morfa is excellent, and the setting overlooking the Malltraeth marshes is absolutely beautiful, especially as the sun sets in the evening. Llangaffo itself is very quiet with a small shop, and a beautiful church. The village is conveniently located for Llanddwyn beach at nearby Newburgh, yet close enough to the A55 for easy travel to other parts of Anglesey and north Wales. Our hosts Ron and Chris were very friendly and always on hand to provide helpful assistance and some very interesting conversation. Margare an David Renfrewshire

Lovely large cottage with beautiful views from the lounge. Anglesey is a lovely place to visit and hopefully will find the time to visit again. Mrs Davies

Fantastic accommodation. Very last minute impulsive booking - booked it at 5.30 pm and we were here for 9 pm! but no regrets. Newborough Forest is a must beach is beautiful. P.S. Hooton's Homegrown Farm Shop - Fatnastic value, don't miss it. P.S.S. At your earliest opportunity speak to Ron and ask to see the photos of the construction of the lake, then take a wander down. It's so peaceful and beautiful, not to be missed! Mr M Morris

Just got back from staying at Raven Cottage the accomodation was superb and the staff were great I recommend it very much. T.W. Bennett
