Accommodation Details

The Dunes is one of the finest houses in Rhosneigr with the most spectacular views ! The perfect house to visit at any time of the year it is ideal for families and friends, testament to this are the delightful family photographs of holiday's taken at The Dunes over many years.

The house has been recently sympathetically and carefully restored, retaining its splendour and character externally whilst bringing it up to date internally.

Rhosneigr is a busy bustling village with masses to do, from pottering on the beach, looking for cowries or seeing what the tide has left in the rock pools, to extreme sports - kite surfing, wind surfing, water skiing and sailing. There is miles of golden sandy beaches for walkers or for those more enthusiastic there is the Anglesey Coastal Path. For golfers there is an 18 hole links course, there is tennis in the village, fishing, prawning and crabbing. For those who like engines there is go-carting and motor racing which are all available in nearby villages.

Relax in the main sitting room and soak up the views of the bay, whether you are snuggling up by the fire in the winter or have the windows thrown open letting the sun pour in, in the summer, this is a lovely calm room with plenty of comfy sofa's and chairs. The second sitting room or ‘snug' also looks west and you can enjoy a cup of coffee with the papers in the window seat or watch the setting sun. If you can drag yourself away from the view there is a flat screen TV with DVD player with a selection of DVD's plenty of board games, jig saw puzzles and playing cards.

A fabulous kitchen combined with dining room, a large, bright, happy room and very well equipped with electric cooker, fridge freezer, dish washer, and toasted sandwich maker. There is a pantry off the kitchen, a utility room with washing machine and then the drying room which has a second fridge freezer, drying rack, and is an ideal place for the dogs to sleep! There is a downstairs cloakroom with loo and wash hand basin. Outside there is a fantastic wet room which is ideal for coming in straight from the beach, masses of hot water in the shower, loo, Belfast sink and benches, hanging space for drying wet suits, wet weather gear and swimming things!

Upstairs to 5 bedrooms, there is a double bedroom with king size bed and a twin bedroom with a zip and link bed which can be made into a super king size bed or twin beds, both these rooms have spectacular views west. There is a single bedroom with a trundle bed underneath, another single bedroom and a further double bedroom which again has the zip and link choice of twin beds or a wonderfully comfy super king sized bed. Two fab bathroom's one with bath and shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail, the second one has a walk in shower with drencher head, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

Outside there is an enclosed garden for children and pets with all sorts of tucked away places to relax and snooze. The sun hollow is a very cosy and quiet place to sneak off with a book, here there is a small decked terrace with sea views and garden furniture. The yard is very sheltered and handy for the kitchen; it has garden furniture and is a good spot for al fresco meals. The lawned garden at the front is great for family cricket or just to sit and watch the sea!! Although the garage is closed to guests there is plenty of room for boats and outside tap.

The Dunes is a special house that will book very quickly.

We stayed 9th-16th Sept 2011. Really appreciated the attention to detail in the house - it ticked every box we could think of. Even leaving library tickets to use!
Immaculately clean on arrival, plenty of space for all both inside and outside. Furnishings to a high standard, kitchen well equipped.

The house is lovely and comfortable with large rooms, very comfy beds,beautiful bed linen and superb fluffy bath towels.It's a house where everyone (including the dog) can feel at home. The only problem we had was there is no easy way to fence off the stairs - luckily we'd taken a gate of our own (not an opening gate so everyone had to hurdle!) otherwise we could not have limited the dog to the ground floor as requested.
