After you cross the bridge onto Anglesey the drive to the the south-east corner of Anglesey and Llangoed is truly lovely!  You leave Menai Bridge on the coast road with wonderful views across the Menai Straits towards Snowdonia, before passing through the pretty seaside town of Beaumaris.

This corner of Anglesey is truly beautiful!  At the most easterly tip is Penmon Point with its lighthouse looking out to Puffin Island (take a boat trip from Beaumaris round the island to see the birdlife and seals), and Penmon Priory.  The priory was established in the 6th century and the neighbouring 17th century dovecote is extremely well preserved with space for 1,000 nests!
