Ty Traeth, which simply means ‘Beach House', is a superb holiday house, located on a quiet road just five minutes' walk from the centre of Rhosneigr. Spacious and contemporary, it has so much to offer both inside and out.
Rhosneigr is a buzzing little village with the most spectacular beach. Here you can enjoy all manner of water sports and sailing. There is so much to do here, with plenty of places to eat and drink: a cocktail bar, a pancake house, Thai restaurant and many more. There is a handful of shops here too, if you need a bit of retail therapy or have forgotten anything for days on the beach. Rhosneigr is also known for its plane spotting, with the RAF Valley air base close by (but not too close by!) You may even catch a glimpse of royalty!
The owners have built Ty Traeth with entertaining in mind. The design is all about open spaces and rooms flowing into each other - simply a great family house that is so bright and airy. The dining room is the centrepiece, with its vaulted ceilings, overlooked by a galleried landing area. A favourite spot of mine is the reading area on the galleried landing, where you can take a few moments to sit and read a book. All the bedrooms are bright and comfortable, with crisp, clean white sheets and high quality oak furniture.
On the ground floor is a twin bedroom, perfect for those who don't want to be climbing stairs or who prefer a little more seclusion.
Upstairs are four further bedrooms: three double rooms and a twin room, all with lovely sea views. One of the beds is a super-king which can be split into two singles.
On the top floor is a superb, spacious bathroom, perfect for the needs of a large family, with walk-in shower, free-standing bath, ‘his and hers' sinks and a large towel rail heater. En suite shower room in master bedroom. Downstairs loo in utility room.
Rhosneigr is fast gaining a reputation as one of the finest kitesurfing spots in the UK. Many water sports are available, as well as tennis and horseriding. The Ty Croes racetrack is about 15 minutes away by car.
There is lots of light in this room, with floor-to-ceiling windows on all aspects, taking in views of the fine garden and flowers (and goldfish!)
Off the dining room is the spacious kitchen, with gas range cooker and a wealth of features for the very best dinner party requirements! There is a great breakfast bar and a separate breakfast table. The colourful sofa is a great spot to curl up on with a coffee and the morning paper.
Across the way and through the double doors from the dining room is the sitting room, a cosy and very comfortable room.
Spacious utility room with a washing machine and plenty of hanging space.
The garden is completely enclosed and very pretty, with palm trees and a fish pond.
