Did you know?

Visitors love Criccieth for its old fashioned seaside charm, beautiful sandy bay, excellent ice cream and pretty little high street shops. But it’s the medieval castle built by Llywelyn the Great - Prince of Gwynedd and Ruler of Wales - that steals the show. It sits up high on a rocky headland looking out to Tremadog Bay on one side and the town’s rooftops on the other. The castle is an important part of the story of Wales: fifty years after it was built by Llywelyn it was annexed by the English monarch Edward I. You can read more about the Lleyn Peninsula here.
