The beaches in Snowdonia are nothing short of spectacular. Mountains meet the sea and the results are some of the most scenic beaches in the UK.
What a coast it is. Set against that magnificent mountainous backdrop, it’s a dramatic and diverse coastal landscape which takes in beautiful wooded estuaries, wild cliffs, big sweeping expanses of golden sands as well as secluded bays and coves. Oh, and some really remarkable wildlife too.
You’ll find traditional family-friendly seaside resorts at places like Barmouth, see some unexpected but beautiful Italianate architecture at Portmeirion and get the opportunity explore the most amazingly preserved and atmospheric medieval castles at Conwy, Caernarfon and Harlech. And for water sports enthusiasts there are countless opportunities to get out and have fun on the water too.
It’s incredible to imagine when you’re high up on a mountain peak and looking out to the far-below Irish Sea, but the rocks you walk on were born out of the oceans. Look at them closely and you might be lucky enough to spot some fossil shell fragments. This mountainous region is inextricably linked to its coast.
Snowdonia’s coast is something special. So bring your walking boots when you come on your holiday by all means, just don’t forget to pack your beach gear too.
You'll find the following properties just a stone's throw away from the beach so it couldn't be easier to get out and enjoy the expanse of golden sand and clear waters.
All our cottages are places we would happily stay in ourselves - we promise you'll love them!
