Cottages in Cork
I am delighted to introduce Ireland in a very small way, thanks to the Donnelly's two fabulous cottages both in the most glorious locations with fantastic views midway between Clonakilty and Kinsale.
A short drive from Cork airport or you catch a ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare or Holyhead to Dublin.
West Cork is a delightful step back in time where you are warmly welcomed, the towns are cheerful, clean and bursting with fantastic local art, craft, excellent food from simple to gourmet, wonderful wild and sea life, lots of yachts, surfing beaches, and most of all it is still a secret so no crowds.
Miles of glorious empty white beaches, spectacular scenery along the coast with the vast Atlantic between you and America, pretty steep banked country lanes which flourish with wild fuschia in the spring, so clean, safe, cheerful and relaxing.
There is plenty to do visit the wonderful Galley Head lighthouse with far reaching views from Fastnet to the Old Head of Kinsale, the 14th century Franciscan Abbey at Timoleague, the village comes to life in August with the Timoleague Festival, Dromberg boasts one of the finest stone circles in Ireland, masses of walks such as the Seven Heads Millenium Walk, or Inchydoney beach one of Cork's finest strand's.
Clonakilty is a bustling market town with pretty streets and interesting crafty things. Whilst Kinsale is the gourmet centre of Ireland with many fine eating places try Fishy Fishy, call at the Jameson whisky factory at Middleton and do not miss the Farmgate it is soooo good!
From the cottages you have the Pink Elephant, Dillons or Casino House all within a short drive.
