MARKETING INVESTMENT
In this current economic climate, many businesses are looking at cost-saving initiatives and generally the first to be hit is marketing, yet it is well known that this is the one budget that should not be reduced. We are undertaking a number of new initiatives this year which we feel will firmly keep Menai Holiday Cottages in the top slot!


The first area we are investing in is our website. We feel it is imperative in this fast changing world that we continually update our site with new properties, news and events as well as continuously refreshing the copy and images of our properties. This will ensure our visitors are always met with a changing website which whets their appetite and encourages them to look further. Our website stats support our claim that this strategy is paying dividend as month on month we see our visitor numbers and online bookings increase.


Although we take online reservations we will NOT take money on line as we feel it is very important to speak to every guest coming to stay so we can ensure they have the right house for their needs and that they know we are here should they need anything!


We will also be adding to each property page online a visitor comments/blog so visitors' can easily let us and other visitors know their thoughts and feedback on their stay - this will keep us all on our toes!! Just before Easter is a good time for you to check your cottage, adding extra new little touches to welcome your repeat visitors and ensuring everything is sparkling, warm and bright to welcome your guests - there are no two chances at that all important first impression.


The internet however is not taking over completely as the printed brochure is still an important marketing tool and we will therefore continue to produce our highly visual and detailed brochure with regular updates throughout the year.


We are also planning an exciting programme of new initiatives for visitors which we will announce throughout the year. The first one of which is a Loyalty Card, so please read on to find out more about this exciting scheme.


 

WE VALUE OUR GUESTS LOYATLY
We always pride ourselves on going the extra mile to ensure guests not only have a memorable holiday but support local businesses by recommending local shops, restaurants and activities - all of which have been tried and tested by us. As this service is extremely popular, we will shortly be introducing the Menai Holiday Cottages Loyalty Card to thank all our valued and regular guests.


 


This exciting scheme will be completely free of charge to our guests and with their personalised membership card will entitle them to exclusive discount offers for restaurants, attractions and shops across North Wales.


We feel this card will benefit our guests and business partners across North Wales enormously and play an important role in encouraging repeat business. We will keep you informed of this scheme's progress which we hope to fully announce shortly.

CRICCIETH OFFICE OPENING
In last month's newsletter we told you about our exciting expansion news with the opening of a new office in Criccieth and we are pleased to announce the doors are set to officially open on Monday 6 April.


To celebrate the opening, we will be holding an Owners' Reception on Saturday 9 May from 11.00am to 3.00pm. The event will be an opportunity for our existing owners and potential owners to view the new office and meet the team, as well as have the occasion of meeting with an accountant and financial advisor to discuss the general aspects of owning and running self catering properties. We are also hoping to have a number of our local contractors on hand too.


This promises to be an informative, yet informal, event and we look forward to welcome you to our new office on the day. Invitations will be sent out nearer the time, but in the meantime please do feel free to call in and see us.

LAUNCH OF MARINE CLUB
The original and best private members boat club launches on Anglesey on 10 April 2009.


The Marine Club, which will initially be in conjunction with ABC Marine in Beaumaris, allows members access to the freedom of the seas for a fraction of the price of ownership.


Members pay an annual fee and then purchase points which can be redeemed against time on the water, so you can take the helm of a range of sports and recreational boats at what will soon become a network of national and international locations. Each location will have a bosun allocated to launch and recover, offer assistance, experience and concierge service.


The Marine Club offers a number of benefits over ownership with no capital investment, no refuelling hassle and no maintenance, launch or recovery fees - you simply reserve, arrive and drive and is ideal for regular visitors to Anglesey or owners of properties on the Island.


The Marine Club is a culmination of many years of development by Phil Scott and Tom Ashwell, who have been involved in the marine industry for a combined 48 years. Both are RYA Yacht masters, powerboat instructors, sailing SI's, windsurfers and kite surfers and Tom, with his wife Nicki, also have two self catering properties with Menai Holiday Cottages.
