Christmas all wrapped up in wonderful creative independent shops in North Wales
There is a growing appetite for shopping local. It seems the fun factor of having days out nosing in and out of small independents or going to Christmas fayres is being rekindled. Enjoy getting gifts made in and from the local area that show you care - we've listed some of those we love below.
And if this is not your idea of fun, then why not choose an experience over more things? If you're in need for some inspiration about what to give as life-affirming, soul-enriching experiences? Then read on!
Independent Shops in Anglesey
Janet Bell Gallery is inspired by Danish design, with Janet hailing from Copenhagen. Her paintings are very much from the region. Tinkers and Belles has wonderful children's clothes, books and toys all beautifully made. We love the playful colours and designs. Anglesey Paper Company is a riot of colourful paper products form lanterns to notebooks, Anderson Gallery has lamps, rugs, pictures, mirrors and scarves. And if you want to add some vintage styling to your home, then Hawthorn Yard in Menai Bridge is an Aladdin’s cave of upcycled and vintage furniture. For lovely painted furniture pieces, as well as some interior styling then head to Vanilla Hill Interiors; in addition, the wonderful Pretty Things is crammed from end to end with beautiful gift and interior ideas.
There is a wonderful Christmas craft fayre running for the whole of December at Oriel Ynys Mon. And if you want to pick up some last minute goodies for the Christmas table or just begin the feasting early then come to Conwy Christmas Food and Drink Festival and Menai Bridge Christmas Fayre.
