From great homemade cakes, ice creams and buckets and spades in the summer to a warming hot chocolate and bowl of soup after a blustery winters walk, here are our top five beach cafes in North Wales.

Pilot House Cafe

The Pilot House Cafe is perched at Penmon Point, in the southeast corner of Anglesey. The cafe has a delightful setting, with views of the lighthouse and across to Puffin Island. It was originally home to the lighthouse pilots, and you’ll find the whole area of Penmon is steeped in history. The area is a bird watcher’s paradise and the Pilot House is the ideal place to take a break from the binoculars. The beach is a very short walk from the cafe. It is stony and rather undulated but sweeps towards the lighthouse and provides a spectacular vista to take in the sea air. Something to note is that car access is via a toll road so make sure you have £2.50 to spare.

With over twenty holiday cottages in and around the Beaumaris area, sleeping from 2 to 12 people, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking your perfect cottage for a brilliant break in this corner of Anglesey.

Bay Cafe

Bay Cafe is tucked into the corner of Benllech Bay with a decking allowing you to sit out and enjoy the vista. It is a seasonal cafe perfectly placed to allow those who take time out here to enjoy the view of the impressive white sand sweeping round the coastline. It is also conveniently on the route of a lovely National trust circular trail, so a brilliant excuse to give those feet a rest! There is something unique about this beach and the clue is in its name – ’Whistling Sands’! It is also a popular beach for water activities and the cafe provides much-needed refreshment.

With such unique attractions and plenty of trails to trek why not stay in one of our lovely holiday cottages on the the Llŷn Peninsula.

The Wavecrest Cafe

The Wavecrest Cafe is nestled just above the charming Church Bay (named after the nearby Llanrhuddlad Church) and is just a short stroll to the beach below.
