The Pilot House Cafe<\/a> is perched at Penmon Point, in the southeast corner of Anglesey. The cafe has a delightful setting, with views of the lighthouse<\/a> and across to Puffin Island. It was originally home to the lighthouse pilots, and you\u2019ll find the whole area of Penmon is steeped in history. The area is a bird watcher’s paradise and the Pilot House is the ideal place to take a break from the binoculars. The beach<\/a> is a very short walk from the cafe. It is stony and rather undulated but sweeps towards the lighthouse and provides a spectacular vista to take in the sea air. Something to note is that car access is via a toll road so make sure you have \u00a32.50 to spare.<\/p>\n

Caffi Porthor can be found, as the name suggests, at Porthor (Porth Oer) on the north side of the Ll\u0177n Peninsula. It is a seasonal cafe perfectly placed to allow those who take time out here to enjoy the view of the impressive white sand sweeping round the coastline. It is also conveniently on the route of a lovely National trust circular trail<\/a>, so a brilliant excuse to give those feet a rest! There is something unique about this beach and the clue is in its name – \u2019Whistling Sands<\/em>\u2019! It comes from the noise that can be heard as you walk along the dry beach, caused by the oddly shaped sand and the way it rubs together. It is also a popular beach for water activities and the cafe provides much-needed refreshment.<\/p>\n

The Wavecrest Cafe<\/a> is nestled just above the charming Church Bay (named after the nearby Llanrhuddlad Church) and is just a short stroll to the beach below. The cafe has previously been named the \u2018Best Cafe on Anglesey\u2019 in the tourism awards, and it\u2019s homemade cooking keep people returning to this rather secluded spot season after season. There is parking further up the lane in a small car park. There is plenty to explore close by, so top up on tea and cake and enjoy all that the North Anglesey coast has to offer.<\/p>\n
