The property

Situated close to the centre of the historic town of Beaumaris, on the Menai Strait on the isle of Anglesey, is Anvil Cottage, a delightful, three-storey cottage, ideal for a family or group wanting to spend quality time together by the coast.

Enter the property to discover an inviting living/dining room, the focal point of which is the decorative fireplace, which you can relax in front of on the sofa as you enjoy your favourite shows on the TV, while the dining area allows you to enjoy meals together as you plan for the days ahead.

The fully-fitted kitchen is equipped with all the appliances you need to cook delicious meals, while the breakfast bar allows you to sit and enjoy a quick snack, or observe the chef of the group as you enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

Head upstairs to discover two well-presented bedrooms; a double and a twin, which share access to the family bathroom, while the second floor boasts a bright and airy super-king-size double, resting beneath sloping ceilings with skylights allowing in plenty of natural light.

To the rear of the property, you will find an enclosed patio garden, where you can sit out and catch some sunshine with a refreshing beverage.

Explore Beaumaris, which boasts a generous selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and independent shops, all within walking distance of the property.

Head to the sand and shingle beach, just minutes' walk away, and be sure to stroll along the pier, taking in the coastal view.

Take a boat trip to nearby Puffin Island to see the magnificent creatures in this protected habitat, take part in a round of golf at the Baron Hill Golf Club, and be sure to pay a visit to the magnificent 13th century castle, Beaumaris Gaol and the Old Court House Museum.

Join the Anglesey Coastal Path, taking in beautiful scenery and lovely beaches at Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Red Wharf Bay along the way.

Venture towards the town of Menai Bridge, just over four miles away, to enjoy exploring the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, the Pili Palas butterfly palace, the hidden gardens of Plas Cadnant and the National Trust's Caeau Glan-y-mor nature reserve.

Cross the Menai Bridge to the mainland and head into the cathedral city of Bangor to discover a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the grassland and wetlands of the Eithinog North Wales Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, the peak of Bangor Mountain, ideal for keen hikers, and the stunning National Trust-owned Penrhyn Castle.

From here, you are also within easy reach of Snowdonia National Park, ideal for walkers and cyclists wanting to explore the vast and varied terrain.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
