“It was a lovely break from the rushing around of daily life, lovely walks on the beaches and not far from the mountains, the views from the lounge over Snowdonia just great, the house was clean and very nicely laid out.”

We hope to come back next year to explore more of this lovely Island

Beaumaris 3.8 miles.

This quaintly renovated former chapel house, Bethania, can be found in the quaint hamlet of Glan-Yr-Afon, not far from the famed town of Beaumaris.

Bethania is a perfect choice for families or groups of friends looking to escape to the Welsh coastline because of its fantastic position, which allows guests to take in the breath-taking mountain views that surround the house and are only a short distance from Traeth Gwyn beach's white pebbles.

As you enter the home, you'll find a spacious, contemporary kitchen that's perfect for whipping up delectable feasts to enjoy in the dining room with a glass of bubbly.

A nearby snug and a second, first-floor sitting room with a mezzanine-style design, both with TVs and plush seating, ensure that there is plenty of room for your guests to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing.

If you prefer to spend your evenings outside, head to the front garden to make the most of the patio furniture and take in the stunning mountain views.

To ensure that all preferences and sleeping arrangements are catered for, retire to one of the four well-appointed bedrooms, which include a super king-size, ground-floor king-size, double, and ground-floor twin.

Two of the bedrooms are serviced by en-suite bathrooms, while the remaining two are serviced by a ground-floor shower room.

You can go for a stroll to see Bwrrd Arthur, commonly known as "Arthur's Table," a Site of Special Scientific Interest, or you can visit Penmon Point, which is the quickest way to reach Puffin Island by kayak and offers a great area to see dolphins, seals, and porpoises.

Grab your walking boots and follow the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, spanning across 200 kilometres of stunning coastal terrain, or if you'd prefer to bird watch and enjoy expansive views of Snowdonia's mountain range, head to Mariandyrys North Wales Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve.

Explore the bustling town of Beaumaris further out to immerse yourself in its history at the Beaumaris Castle, the Beaumaris Gaol and Court, or to try your hand at crab fishing from the renowned Beaumaris Pier.

You can enjoy a picnic there during the warmer months or select from a wide variety of independent cafés, restaurants, or pubs to treat your loved ones to a hearty dinner just a short drive from your front door in Bangor, which is home to the magnificent Penrhyn Castle and Garden.

During your time at Bethania, you won't run out of things to do.

About the location

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
