“Just back from a very enjoyable weeks stay at Glan Dwr.”

This house really is a very special place right on the edge of the Menai Straits with amazing views over the water and to the mountains of Snowdonia. You can even see the top of Snowdon on a clear day. This house really is a very special place right on the edge of the Menai Straits with amazing views over the water and to the mountains of Snowdonia. You can even see the top of Snowdon on a clear day. There are views from every room and the lounge is a great place to sit when the weathers not so good and watch the comings and goings through the straits. The landlords have recently installed a large sundeck which is the perfect spot to enjoy the views with a drink or meal. The garden is a delight to be in. When the sun is shining you'd be hard pushed to beat this place for a magical holiday. We noted a couple of minor things to the landlord which I'm sure will be worked on and we would add that the electric oven in the kitchen is probably past its sell by date but these really shouldn't detract from the overall unique experience that that this property offers. It's well situated for Beaumaris and lots of walks at Newborough Forest about 30 mins drive away but well worth the visit. Also a great beach at Llanddona and you can walk right around Red Wharf Bay for a well earned stop at the Ship Inn. We got the impression that the landlords have worked hard to keep up the standards in this property continually adding/improving the property. Overall we would highly recommend a stay at Glan Dwr and thank the landlords for making our stay so special (and the welcome bottle on arrival!!). Merv and Denise, Dorset

The property

So many of our holiday houses have impressive outlooks but the views here are truly outstanding and the location is superb!

Elevated above the water's edge with panoramic views over the Menai Strait with Snowdonia as a spectacular backdrop, the outlook is simply breathtaking whatever the season.

Aptly named Glan Dwr, which translates to waterside, there is a view from nearly every window.

The terraced garden has seating areas and at the very bottom there is your own private dock so you can cast your rod or throw your crab line directly off the wooden deck!

The kitchen has everything you need for rustling up tasty meals! There’s an AGA, electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and toaster. The utility room adjacent has a fridge/freezer, washing machine and drier.

Just off this utility is a ground floor is a loo and wash hand basin. The sitting room is a wonderful space - it has a large, curved bay window with seating from which you can soak up the sea views. There are squishy sofas and chairs set around the warming open fire, ideal for adding warmth in the winter. For entertainment, there’s a large flat screen TV, DVD and CD player. The dining room has a table and chairs sitting up to eight. There’s a feature fireplace but it’s not in use. Glan Dwr has four bedrooms which all have sublime views of the Menai Strait and the mountains of Snowdonia as a backdrop.Bedroom one is the master room with a Queen sized bed, vanity sink, and French windows that lead out onto a small, curved balcony.Bedroom two has a king sized bed.

Bedroom three is a double and bedroom four is a twin. There is a bathroom with bath, loo and wash hand basin and a shower room with shower, loo and wash hand basin. Outside is a delightful garden with pretty plants, winding paths and seating space to soak up the views.

In fact, the grounds go right to the water's edge where you’ll find a wooden dock.

There is a wide pavement outside on the roadside where you can park your car. Situated between the popular towns of Menai Bridge and Beaumaris, each with an excellent variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and individual little shops.

Don't want to drive?

The Gazelle Hotel is less than a 5 minute stroll away for either a beer (or two!) or a meal.

You can walk to Menai Bridge in approximately 25 minutes, too.
