  • “A problem we always experience with these places is a lack of kitchen equipment 4knives spoons forks and mugs means that you are continually washing up or using the dishwasher half empty A decent non stick frying pan would also have been an asset In these days of covid we of course ate I in more than usual so it was particularly noticeable The builder re-roofing the next door garage with an angle grinder at 8 am was a bit much but nothing you could do about that!”

The property

Character holiday cottage located in one of Beaumaris' higgledy piggledy streets.

It is just a few minutes away from the waterfront and the bustling town centre. "Cosy character cottage close to the waterfront and all the captivating delights of Beaumaris." Beaumaris is a historic town, complete with moated castle, set on the banks of the Menai Strait where you can watch the yachts racing by or just marvel at the mountains beyond.

The pier is a favourite spot for crabbing and the town itself has a delightful range of individual shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

Note: Guests should note the gravelled area outside has a pedestrian right of way for a neighbouring property.
Note: As with many cottages in Beaumaris there is no allocated parking but a car can be stopped for loading/unloading - guests can use neighbouring side streets or purchase a weekly ticket for The Green.
