“As a party of seven, two of whom were small children, we were appalled on arrival to see that there was no washing machine, even though it was listed quite clearly in the description.”

Also, the dishwasher was broken - beyond repair, as it turned out. There was an old tablet in the dishwasher, suggesting the appliance had not been tested for some time. Spending precious family time either washing up or in the laundrette (kindly recommended by the owner when I rang to complain....) was not what I had planned for my holiday. Sykes/Menai managed to replace the dishwasher, but not until Friday evening, so not much use for us. The apartment was potentially delightful, but very ...

The apartment was potentially delightful, but very tired. The freezer would only close when one of the drawers was removed, and the bottle shelf in the fridge door was broken. Apart from basic cutlery and crockery, there were no serving dishes/plates whatsoever. Comfy beds but very tired linen and towels. This apartment needs a bit spending on it, and it would be absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. Views from the lounge are outstanding, however, and the location is excellent.

The property

The owners have taken great pride in restoring this Grade 2 listed Georgian house to provide two luxury apartments in Beaumaris.

The renovation has followed the original features in a sympathetic way, moulding replicated, brick and stone walls exposed, floorboards cleaned, sanded and polished. Superb furnishings have been specially sourced from around the country to complete this stunning, classic house.

The owners want you to feel relaxed during your stay and for you to feel comfortable enough to kick off your shoes and chill out. The modern and well-equipped kitchen has a double oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee maker.

The dining table and chairs seat eight.

The sitting room has lovely seating areas with window seats in the gorgeous bay windows with views of the Strait.

There are comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove and a SMART TV. There are four bedrooms.

The first is a double with king size bed, a decorative fireplace and window seat.

The second double has a king size bed and window seat, and the third double a double size bed and window seat.

The forth room is a twin bedroom with two single beds, decorative fireplace and window seat. On the first floor there is a bathroom with shower, double ended bath, wash hand basin and a separate loo.

On the second floor there is a shower room with large shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. There is a shared paved courtyard with a bench to the front of the property. As with most houses in Beaumaris there is no private parking.

The Green parking is very close by and you can purchase daily or weekly tickets. "Fabulous and stylish this gorgeous apartment is just a short stroll from the lovely seafront." The beach and pier, which is popular for crabbing and fishing, is just a short stroll away.

You will also find coffee shops, ice cream parlours, individual shops and galleries, the historic moated Castle, Gaol and Courthouse in town.

You will find everyone friendly with a selection of bars, pubs and restaurants nearby.

We can recommend the local bakery for a fine loaf of bread, delicious pies and pasties and, of course, delicious cakes. Tri Raglan Mawr is on the first and second floor.

Tri Raglan Bach, on the ground floor, sleeping 3 + 1, is a great addition if your party is more than 8 or for those who are not keen on stairs.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
