“We cannot recommended this cottage highly enough.”
It was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and a haven. It is set in a lane which is quiet. The odd car and walker went past but apart from that so peaceful.
The garden is delightful, the hydrangeas were in bloom and they are lovely. It has a stone wall all around, our main issue was our dog (Border Terrier)who ought to be named Houdini, possibly could have got out at the bottom of the garden(someone has already mentioned this in an earlier review). Because of this we couldn't let him loose without watching him very carefully. We were grateful therefore for the wonderful dog exercise park, Centrebarks in the next village Brynteg, where we could take our dog for a lovely run in 4 acres of fenced fields.
Our one and only disappointment was on the Friday as we were due to leave on the Saturday, we were sitting enjoying our leisurely breakfast around 9.30am when a man walked past the very private window. Then we heard him say"hello", through the kitchen stable door. My husband went to see who he was and was met with a curt "we are cutting the grass, ok".... The man and we assume his wife proceeded to do this. Very quickly and efficiently. It would have been more courteous if he had said who they were and maybe talked to us.. It was rather early to invade our privacy we thought, couldn't it have waited until we had left the following day??
We still don't know who they were, cleaners or owners???
Some may think this is rather pedantic, maybe it is, but it upset us on our last day...
Apart from that..a lovely holiday in a beautiful place.
