Weathered Stone Cottage is a traditional semi-detached Grade II listed cottage situated in the quiet village of LLandygai, just outside of Bangor.

The village Llandygai was developed by Baron Penrhyn ‘1st’ (1800-1886) as a ‘model village’ for his estate workers. It lies immediately outside of the walls of Penrhyn Castle.‘Tre Felin’ translates in english to ‘three mills’.

Weathered Stone Cottage, a grade II listed building was originally built for the workers of the saw mill.

The road homes a row of 8 stone cottages.Curiously each cottage is positioned backwards with the back of the house facing the road, while the pretty front of the house faces the railway line which runs behind the trees on the hill beyond the long gardens.Such positioning enhances the peaceful aesthetic’s without being overlooked in the garden.

Sleeping up to four guests, with a ground-floor bathroom, Weathered Stone Cottage is an idyllic cottage escape in the spectacular setting of North Wales. The cottage immediately greets you with a warm and quaint kitchen complete with a range cooker and all the amenities needed to rustle up delicious meals.

If you want to relax move into the Living/dining room complete with a woodburning stove, boasting a classical interior, such as an inglenook fireplace, reclaimed quarry tile flooring and rustic wooden beams.

Stretch out on the corner sofa for the afternoon making it the perfect space to unwind.

The sitting room next door is a perfect retreat in the evening to watch TV or perhaps read a book with a hot chocolate On the ground-floor you will also find a bathroom, featuring a lovely Victorian bath on claw feet with a hand held shower over, and original pine floorboards; wash the day away before heading upstairs to find one super-king-size and one double bedroom, with plenty of storage to keep your belongings.

The garden at Weathered Stone Cottage is a beautiful little sanctuary, with plenty of outdoor seating to pick your favourite spot and sit among the colourful shrubs, flowerbeds, ornamental ponds and trees.

The cottage is nearby to local amenities, such as a Post Office shop and a pub, providing everything you need for a homely, self-catered stay.

The cottage is also a short drive away from the city of Bangor, a small but lively place to visit the Bangor Cathedral, which traces back to the 6th Century, the Bishop’s Palace museum and gallery, or treat yourself to dinner out and an evening stroll along the pier.

Heading south west, you will reach Caernarfon, a royal town and port in Gwynedd, featuring Wales’ most famous castle and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Caernarfon Castle; explore its narrow streets, Roman settlement remains, or take the scenic Lôn Eifion recreational cycle route.

To the north east lies Conwy, a walled market town boasting the smallest house in Britain, the Elizabethan Plas Mawr town house and one of Wales’ best gardens, Bodnant Garden.

Conveniently located next to fantastic North Wales towns, as well as Snowdonia and the Menai Bridge leading to Anglesey, Weathered Stone Cottage is a brilliant spot to explore Welsh heritage in a quaint cottage setting.
