  • “This is a very pleasant house, well-maintained and clean, and I stayed here for four weeks.”

    ...

BUT: It doesn’t say in the property Description, there is just a line at the bottom of the Summary: ‘Some road noise may be heard at busy times’ In fact there is a lot of road noise all the time apart from in the early hours of the night. Everything goes by that house including tractors, lorries, buses, fire engines and ambulances! All the time. Except in the early hours! It starts up again at about 5am! I normally live in a very quiet no-through road so this was a shock to me especially as I was there for four weeks! But I thought about all the millions of people who live by busy roads and thought: if they can live with it then so can I! And I did. With earplugs. I could even say I kind of liked the noise after a while - like having the world just outside your window! I especially liked the man with the van and his dog barking out of the passenger window! Also there are bright street lights outside the two front bedroom windows and there are only Venetian blinds at the windows. When the rest of my family arrived they brought black out curtains to put over the blinds. When I booked this house Sykes did check I was aware of the road - I thought it wasn’t very busy as I have family further down the road and I hadn’t noticed the traffic noise at their house, probably because we were busy talking! So, if you like to be quiet don’t stay here! It is a nice house but I won’t be back!
