“We've had a really lovely stay at Yr Orsedd.”

The cottage is very homely, clean and well equipped. The beds and linen all very comfortable. There was also a very generous welcome pack on arrival with essentials for the stay as well as a few treats! All in all a great place to stay on the beautiful isle of Anglesey. We hope to be back again soon! Thank you to the owners and Sykes cottages for helping us to have a lovely holiday!

The property

A delightful cottage in the hamlet of Llanfaethlu with superb views of the coast.

The garden is a delight where you can enjoy the sunshine and views towards the coast in the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding countryside, relaxing with a cup of coffee or dining alfresco. There are fabulous coastal walks practically from your doorstep and you are just a short drive away from lovely Church Bay with the perennially popular eateries of The Wavecrest and The Lobster Pot or you can visit The Church Bay Inn and enjoy a refreshing drink on the balcony. Whatever you find to do, Yr Orsedd and it's lovely views will tempt you back again and again. We love this peaceful corner of Anglesey where you might even spot a dolphin or two in the bay with the thoughtfully provided binoculars or watch the ferries on their way to and from the Emerald Isle.

You could even have a day trip to Dublin!

South Stack is a must for visitors, home to the endearing puffin and myriad other sea birds.

This is the ideal family house, perfect for families, with a friendly garden for children and dogs.

The ground floor bedroom and bathroom is great for those who find stairs tricky. Whatever you find to do, Yr Orsedd and it's lovely views will tempt you back again and again.

About the location

LLANFAETHLU

Holyhead 10 miles.

The small village of Llanfaethlu nestles close to the stunning, north west coastline of Anglesey. Amidst spectacular cliffs and sandy beaches, this unassuming village provides a local shop and Post Office, whilst nearby Church Bay boasts a superb seafood restaurant. Wales' only working windmill is within easy reach, providing an opportunity to see corn being ground the old fashioned way, whilst the surrounding countryside boasts excellent fishing, birdwatching and coastal walks, with climbing on offer in Snowdonia. Indulge in fabulous watersports, including kitesurfing, diving and sailing at the stunning Rhosneigr beach, or enjoy 18 holes at a choice of three local golf courses. Spend the day at Anglesey Sea Zoo, visit the historic town of Beaumaris with its medieval castle and array of shops and restaurants, take a boat trip past Plas Newydd Country House or indulge in a day trip to Ireland.
