  • “We were a party of 6 me my partner, my daughter her partner and two young children.”

The cottage was perfect for us - well appointed - kids slept in the downstairs bedroom with their own en-suite and adults used the two beautifully furnished upstairs rooms. The bathroom was stunning. The cottage was well equipped with a lovely welcome basket to greet us. The gardens were so pretty a.though the hot tub wasn’t in use that didn’t really bother us. The views from the cottage were stunning and it was a joy to come home to every evening. Even though it is late on in the year ...

The views from the cottage were stunning and it was a joy to come home to every evening. Even though it is late on in the year we were still able to have drinks outside early evening and I guess it would be near perfect in the summer . We all enjoyed our week very much even though England lost the Rugby World Cup to RSA

The property

This pretty holiday cottage sits on the side of a hill, with lovely views over the Menai Strait.

The multi-level garden is the perfect vantage point for looking out to sea, and the hot tub on the top level makes a great place for a glass of wine in the sunshine! The pretty kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with freezer compartment, and a dining area with table and four chairs and an electric log burner effect stove. The sitting room is furnished with comfy leather sofas, and has French doors that open onto a lovely space with table and chairs in the garden. There is a small downstairs bedroom with small double bed (can be tight for 2), and a small en-suite shower, WC and basin. There are two further bedrooms upstairs, the front bedroom, which benefits from fantastic sea views, is really special, it has white-washed floorboards, a white four-poster bed and matching furniture, and a wrought iron terrace to sit out on and the other double bedroom is at the back of the house and continues the white, almost fairy-tale theme.

There is a large family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate bath.

The multi-level garden enjoys wonderful views over the Menai Strait.

It has a decking area with garden furniture and a hot tub with wonderful views. "A dreamy romantic little hideaway with a hot tub bubbling away ready for you to hop in and relax and soak up the views." Rhianfa Cottage is in a great spot if you wish to be near plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, Menai Bridge is just five minutes along the coast, and Beaumaris is the same in the opposite direction.

Be sure to visit the Red Boat Ice cream shop in Beaumaris and the superb Central Bakery.

Menai Bridge has lots of shops and cafes - I recommend tea and a cake at Pot Jam after a walk under the famous Thomas Telford Bridge!

If you don't fancy jumping in the car, then The Gazelle is a short walk from the house, and is a really great spot to sit and watch the boats bob up and down while enjoying a drink or a bite to eat.

For golfers, there are two great courses within 10 minutes' drive.

About the location

MENAI BRIDGE

Llanfairpwllgwyngyll 2 miles; Bangor 2.5 miles; Beaumaris 4.5 miles; Caernarfon 8 miles

This delightful town sits right on the edge of the Isle of Anglesey and is home to one of two bridges to mainland Wales. It is an ideal base for a holiday and is great for exploring this beautiful island. It has a strong history which can be discovered in the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, the well known Saint Tysilio lived on Church Island, just off of Anglesey in the 9th century, hence the name of the 14th century St. Tysilio's Church. Menai Bridge itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. In terms of entertainment, this is an ideal spot with something for everybody, there is the butterfly palace 'Pili Palas' which is incredibly popular with families, as well as the astounding Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens well worth a walk around. The Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance for you outdoor enthusiasts, it has wonderful walking, cycling and opportunities to see some beautiful sights. Nearer to the town, there are some incredible places including the popular towns of Beaumaris and Caernarfon with their majestic castles and much more to do.

Note: Guests are advised that as the hot tubs need to be cleaned and emptied for each new set of guests, the water may not be fully up to temperature on the first evening of their stay.
Note: There is a £20 charge per pet.
