The property

Resting in an idyllic location, on the fringes of Snowdonia National Park is Dorlan, a cosy mid-terrace cottage found near the village of Deiniolen.

Well-placed for exploring the nearby national park, this property is ideal for a family or group of friends looking for an action-packed North Wales getaway to discover the incredible landscapes on offer.

Park on the roadside at the front of the property and enter this welcoming cottage to discover the immaculate living/dining room, where you can sit back and relax on one of the sofas as the wood burning stove warms the room and adds a cosy ambiance to the space.

The lovely dining table can comfortably seat six, so meals can be enjoyed together as a group.

Venture downstairs to the lower-ground-floor, where you will find the characterful kitchen, packed with appliances and mod cons, as well as traditional features like the rustic stone fireplace that houses the feature AGA cooker.

Head upstairs to the first floor to find a crisp white double and a lovely twin room, both of which are served by the family shower room, where you can prepare for each day with a refreshing rinse.

Resting under the eaves on the second floor is a third bedroom; a spacious double which boasts a neutral theme and offers wonderful views out towards the countryside.

Open the French doors from the kitchen to a patio and garden area which includes outside table and chairs and a BBQ, with a calming river flowing by at the end of the garden.

A soothing walk takes you into the village of Deiniolen, where you will find your nearest shop and pub.

Further afield, there is much to see and do within a short distance; the well-stocked village of Llanberis is just four miles away, for a choice of fine shops and eateries.

The property conveniently sits on the edge of the wondrous Snowdonia National Park, a landscape providing sublime opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling, wildlife spotting and even boasts the fabulous Zip World and Bounce Below.

The fascinating tourist spots of Bangor and Caernarfon are also within a 10-mile journey, boasting magnificent architecture and plenty to do to suit all tastes.

The island of Anglesey with its fabulous beaches and coastal walks is also only a short drive away.

Dorlan is a perfectly placed, characterful cottage for a well-deserved North Wales getaway.

About the location

DEINIOLEN

Llanberis 4 miles; Caernarfon 8 miles; Bangor 8 miles.

The village of Deiniolen, housing a village pub and shop, is 4 miles north of Llanberis, on the border of the Snowdonia National Park, making it an ideal base to explore the National Park. The Llanberis Railway runs nearby along the banks of Lake Padarn, whilst the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle are 2 miles away, or visit Ceunant Mawr, a cascading waterfall just outside Llanberis. Local walks lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir on the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Llanberis is 4 miles away and is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a “mecca” for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. On the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd.
