“It’s a lovely place for a family holiday.”

Ample facilities, great communal space and wonderful views.

Ample facilities, great communal space and wonderful views. Just being picky, the TV controls could do with improving and instructions were not great, but a minor point

The property

Ffynnon Wen holiday house is a former chapel.

It is an amazing property, with wonderful views towards Snowdon and across the water to Anglesey. "A warm and cosy chapel conversion in the wilds of Snowdonia with fabulous mountain views." Warm, cosy and bright, it has been carefully furnished to a high standard and has wonderful windows and slate floors.

Situated close to the popular village of Llanberis, which sits at the foot of Snowdon, you will be spoilt for choice for things to do.

There are numerous fantastic walks, quarries to explore, train rides, an Electric Mountain to tour, or you can learn to paddleboard in the lake. A really fab house in a great location to explore North Wales - you just have to stay here!

About the location

Llanberis 5.4 miles; Caernarfon 9.2 miles; Bangor 9.5 miles.

The village of Dinorwig, overlooks Llanberis, which is approximately 5 miles by road. On the border of the Snowdonia National Park, it is an ideal base to explore the Park. The Llanberis Railway runs nearby along the banks of Lake Padarn, whilst the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle are 2 miles away, or visit Ceunant Mawr, a cascading waterfall just outside Llanberis. Local walks lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir on the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Llanberis is 4 miles away and is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is the outdoor hub of the area, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. On the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd. The Isle of Angelsey and the North Wales coastline, both with a magnificent selection of beaches, are within easy touring distance.
