    “We really enjoyed our stay.”

Our lovely host provided a few essentials, Tea, Coffee, Milk, Sugar and Cake! Lots of logs for the open fire, hot water bottles and fresh flowers which was a lovely touch and gratefully received. Bed Linen and towels provided. It also has Wi-Fi. The house is very clean, situated in a rural location, it is close the Newborough Forest & Beach - which is a must see.

Resting in the picturesque village of Llangaffo on the Isle of Anglesey is this charming detached cottage, Dinam Lodge.

Conveniently located within the countryside while being within easy reach of the coast and local amenities, this delightful property is ideal for a couple or small family looking to discover this beautiful area of Wales.

On arrival at the cottage, a quintessentially cottage-like white picket fence invites you in to this endearing home-from-home.

Stepping into the dwelling, the stylish sitting room presents a delicate blue theme consistent with the cottage and welcomes you to kick off your shoes and relax in front of the TV while the open fire gently warms the space.

From here, gather at the dining room table to discuss the day's events while the chef of the group whips up a tasty meal in the well-equipped kitchen.

Just off the kitchen you will find a handy utility where you can refresh your clothes and towels, along with a bathroom, perfect for freshening up between activities.

As the evening draws to a close, head upstairs to catch some rest in one of two bedrooms, each decorated with a light and airy neutral décor and plenty of storage.

The first floor hosts a double and a twin, providing flexible sleeping arrangement for friends or younger travellers.

Enjoy a coffee out in the garden in the crisp summer mornings while admiring the views of the nearby open fields, or perhaps enjoy your evening meal alfresco with a good glass of wine.

Catch some rays at the nearby beach at Llanddywn which boasts a sweeping sandy stretch, and a beautiful old lighthouse, forestry commission walks and cycle paths, and stunning views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range.

For a touch of history throughout your stay, visit the Anglesey Transport Museum with its fascinating exhibits and be sure to pop into their café for tea and cake or a light lunch.

Plas Newydd House is just a short drive away from the cottage and makes for a peaceful day out, exploring the mansion and its perfectly manicured gardens and grounds.

Head out to Beaumaris, known for its grand 13th century castle known as 'the greatest castle never built'.

Also in Beaumaris is Beaumaris Gaol, a former prison, now museum, the imposing building makes for a fascinating day out at any age.

Venture further afield to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Conwy and explore the tremendous castle and grounds before stopping at one of many pubs and restaurants on offer for dinner.

Whatever the weather, Dinam Lodge is a delightful base at any time of year.

About the location

LLANGAFFO

Newborough 2 miles; Gaerwen 4 miles.

Llangaffo is a small village situated between Gaerwen and Newborough on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales. The village has views of the Menai Straits and the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia), and contains a local store and post office. It is also home to St Caffo’s Church which dates back to 1846 and was named after a 6th century saint who was killed nearby. Just two miles away is the village of Newborough which lies on the edge of forests and dunes, and is home to a population of red squirrels, one of only two colonies on Anglesey. Close by is Llanddwyn Bay, renowned as one of the finest beaches in Britain, ideal for swimming, canoeing, beachcombing and birdwatching or just relaxing! Behind the beach, the 1500 acre sand dune system of Newborough Warren is home to skylarks, meadow pipits and oyster catchers, as well as toads and lizards and is protected as a National Nature Reserve. The famous Anglesey Model Village, set in one acre of beautifully landscaped gardens, is within half a mile of the village centre and makes a fun day out for the whole family, and Anglesey Sea Zoo, Tacla Taid, the old vehicle museum and Foel Farm are nearby.
