“Lovely lodge, in a peaceful area.”

Lodge had everything you would need, only missing a washing machine. There wasn’t really anywhere for the dogs to do their business, as every single piece of grass was fenced off. Did also feel a little bit watched, with the owners being directly behind and above the lodge. We received a text to put the lid on the hot tub whilst my partner was using it, which did feel a little intrusive. Also never stayed anywhere where there has been a lot of instructions on departure, including stripping the bed sheets and putting them in a bag. Just felt like the guests are expected to do a lot to avoid as much being done before the next guests arrive, especially when we had to leave by 10am. We were woken up a couple of mornings around 7.30am, with what sounded like building works, which could have waited until 9am knowing guests are next door. But overall very nice stay, would recommend as it is in such a lovely area, but maybe without dogs.

The property

This detached lodge rests on a sleepy lane on the outskirts of Cemaes Bay, on the Isle of Anglesey in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which guarantees breath-taking and uninterrupted views.

Y Caban has been thoughtfully renovated to a high standard to provide welcoming accommodation suitable for families or groups of friends.

Internally, the lodge offers a single-storey layout and provides a light and airy open-plan living space, perfect for socialising and gathering thoughts after a long day out.

Collapse on the sofa beside the electric fire or take over the kitchen and utilise a range of appliances, including an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher, so washing up will be a breeze!

Move outside to the wrap-around balcony, offering an elevated view of the surrounding fields, or take a few steps down to the enclosed patio where the hot tub allures you.

The bedrooms are situated at the other side of the lodge and include the master with king-size bed and TV, a double with TV and a twin, ideal for children.

Cemaes Bay is a great base for touring Anglesey; treat the group to a meal out at the Stag Inn or The Bay View Restaurant and Bar where you can enjoy delicious meals while your beloved canine companion rests at your feet.

Stock up on self-catering essentials at the convenience store, and explore the Rock Pools of Traeth Mawr, a scenic and sheltered beach.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with an abundance of beaches to discover along the coast, including Cemlyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve, Traeth Ynys y Fydlyn, and Traeth Porth Wen Beach and the ruins of Porth Wen Brick Works.

Spend sunny days upon the sandy and pebbled shores of Cemaes Main Beach where you can take to the water in kayaks or on paddle boards or head to Caffi Beach to sample amazing ice cream, which is a must by the sea, or delicious wood-fired pizzas!

Holyhead is a scenic drive away and offers a lovely harbour front, a marina and a host of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy, along with a port from which you can catch a ferry to Dublin.

There are also a plethora of circular walking paths directly from Y Caban as well as the Coastal Path, making this a haven for keen ramblers.

Take off into mainland Wales and see the scenic splendour of the Snowdonia National Park, uncover the beautiful Llyn Peninsula or enjoy the hustle and bustle of Llandudno.

Expect all this and much more whilst staying at Y Caban.
