“We really enjoyed our stay here and we are looking forward to returning.”

The cottage has everything necessary and is cosy, comfortable and very clean. You have an excellent housekeeper! The Kinmel Arms is dog-friendly. Walks along the coastal path in either direction are excellent.

The property

Enjoying a peaceful position within the quaint village of Moelfre is this delightful two hundred year old cottage, Bryn Peris.

(which reputedly once housed Charles Dickens while he wrote about the wreck of the Royal Charter!) The house has been designed to offer a base for families and friends to discover all that this corner of Anglesey has to offer.

Unwind into your evening by sinking into one of the plush sofas within the sitting room, exuding character from the exposed beams and traditional fireplace containing an open fire.

Moving through the property, you will find a bright and airy conservatory; look forward to sinking into the sofa and admiring the garden with a cup of tea in hand.

Catering to your culinary needs is the country-style kitchen, where the Range cooker takes centre stage before all the other essentials, including a washing machine so that you can pack lightly.

Once dinner is ready, gather your loved ones within the dining room to tuck in, with the added benefit of a woodburning stove during the winter months.

After an action-packed day of exploring, make your way upstairs to retire to one of the three bedrooms, comprising of two double bed rooms and a bunk bedroom, which has been wonderfully designed to suit any younger guests of the group.

The exterior of the property comes with a back garden, where you can enjoy lunch on the lawn during the summer months and a great spot for your canine companions to stretch their legs.

The village of Moelfre comes complete with everything you could possibly need, including a shop for picking up the essentials and a pub, a fish and chip shop and a number of cafés.

Families will be delighted by the selection of beaches within the surrounding area, including the village’s local beach, Traeth Bychan, Porth yr Aber and Porth Helaeth, where all kinds of watersport opportunities can be had, from canoeing, kayaking and kite surfing.

From here, you will discover a number of superb fishing opportunities, as well as walking the coastal path for breath-taking scenery.

If you are willing to travel slightly further afield, there is the glorious beach at Newborough, the city of Bangor and Holyhead, where you can catch a ferry into Dublin for the day.

Bring your family and friends to share a memorable stay in Moelfre.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

MOELFRE

Lligwy 2 miles; Benllech 2.5 miles.

Situated on the beautiful east coast of Anglesey, Moelfre is a delightful seaside village, boasting little cottages, a picturesque port, a beach, fine views of Snowdonia, a working lifeboat, and two quality pubs/restaurants. Visit the hugely popular local Seawatch Centre, enjoy fishing or watching sea birds, seals and even dolphins, or discover wonderful cliff-top walks with stunning mountain views. The village has many historic links, the most recent being the site of the tragic Royal Charter shipwreck in 1859. There are stunning sandy beaches nearby, at Benllech and Lligwy, and the lovely Red Wharf Bay, with its miles of open sands and birdlife. A perfect location for travelling around this lovely island and throughout beautiful Snowdonia.

Note: Please mind your head at the bathroom door and the low banister on the upper level due to the age of the cottage.
