“We couldn't recommend this property enough.”

Peace and tranquility. Just what we needed. Lovely welcome pack. So clean. Really comfy bed and bedding and the view from the bedroom is unrivalled I would say! Binoculars provided aided us to see Puffin Island, the seals coming over by the lighthouse. A lovely spacious garden looking out over the sea. A very short walk to the beach. One of our best weeks away at one of our favourite locations. Would highly recommend.

The property

2 Old Coastguard House is a cosy, semi-detached dwelling resting on the coastal seafront, near the town of Beaumaris.

Formerly this cottage was built to house the coastguard that served the nearby coastguard station and has far reaching views over the Menai Straits to Snowdonia and to the front of the property to Puffin Island and the iconic Tryn Du lighthouse.

This elegantly dressed property is an ideal base for a family break to the Welsh coast.

Upon entering the dwelling, you are welcomed to a handy porch area, making the ideal spot for kicking of muddy boots before entering the beach-inspired property.

From here, you will enter a well-appointed kitchen/diner, completed with a fresh and neutral colour palette to complement the seaside theme and to provide a delightful area for hosting your family evening meals.

Relax within the well-presented sitting room, where you can curl up on the chesterfield sofas, which sit in front of a warming wood burning fire.

Moving through to the rear of the property, you will find a charming single bedroom.

French doors lead onto the patio and benefit from breath-taking sea views with the Snowdonia mountain range beyond.

Upstairs, you will discover an elegantly presented master bedroom, housing a king-size double bed with dual aspect views of both the lighthouse and Menai Straits.

Additional bedrooms include a boat inspired bunk room and a cosy twin bedroom, suitable for adults.

Completing the first floor is a luxury family bathroom, complete with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, finished with a touch of charm.

During the summer months, you and your loved ones can make the most of a spacious lawned garden or enjoy a glass of wine on the patio area during a pleasant evening.

For amenities you will find the local shop 3.3 miles away and a selection of pubs can be situated within the centre of Beaumaris town.

Whilst staying here at Penmon Point, you can appreciate breath-taking views and some exciting wildlife, including dolphins!

Within a 15-minute drive you will reach the famous historic market town of Beaumaris, where you will be able to explore Beaumaris Castle, the Victorian prison Beaumaris Gaol or take a Puffin Island boat trip.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
