“Firstly both the ownership and Sykes, were kind enough to postpone our initial holiday to the following year with pretty much the same weeks due to the pandemic.”
This is my second visit to this site, I stayed in the west cottage the first time to which I praised it and said i would return. We chose the east this time around as we decided we wanted a quiet holiday after doing all the local attractions the first time around, and also bring our dog. I think it is an excellent idea to have one pet friendly and one no pets, giving a diverse opportunity to stay.
As I have stayed in both it would be fair to list the differences. If you like big open spaces and extremely large kitchens, stay in the West. If you like individual rooms and happy with a small kitchen, stay in the East. Personally I preferred the East.
It is also fair to mention that the west has a bath and the east doesn't, should that be important to anyone.
As always the owners were brilliant, they always take time to talk to you and engage in conversations, they are a lovely couple.
Overall if you want peace and quiet and a total chill, this is definitely the place to go.
We have decided to make it our preferred UK location and will be returning 2022, however we may try a winter period as we have done 2 summers holidays, and I'm very in touch with photography, so would like to see some stormy waters instead of calm.
Bonuses, Dolphins, seals and birds of prey can be seen swimming around the lighthouse.
