  • “Not just for the nice weather, we had gales which produced wonderful lashing seas and gloriously exhilarating walks.”

We saw dolphins almost every day, fantastic!

The property

Sitting on a headland with breathtaking views over the sea, West Keeper's Cottage has been lovingly restored to incorporate a mix of traditional features with contemporary comforts. "What a location!

Imagine being a light house keeper and this is your home!

Well it is now if you book it for your week's holiday!" Whatever the weather, this is a spectacular location for a holiday cottage.

From the front door you can walk around the headland to the lighthouse, or follow the path to Llaneilian, one of Anglesey's prettiest bays with a sandy beach and an attractive church. This area is also a haven for wildlife.

Porpoises, dolphins and seals are often sighted - even from the sitting room window!

Choughs nest on the headland, and you are bound to see a number of resident and migrant seabirds. Together, West and East Keeper's Cottages can accommodate a party of 12 people.

The lighthouse is still working, but there is no foghorn to disturb the peace at these beautiful properties!

About the location

LLANEILIAN

Amlwch 2 miles; Moelfre 7 miles.

A scattered, rural village situated close to the cliffs of Point Lynas and the little bay of Porth Eilian, on the beautiful north coast of Anglesey. Llaneilian stands amidst lovely countryside, which is perfect for scenic walks and cycle rides, but is perhaps best known for its lighthouse built in 1835, and its small, attractive shingle and sand beach, which is sheltered by cliffs and headland making it perfect for swimming, boating, fishing and other water sports. Just 2 miles west is the old port of Amlwch, the most northerly town in Wales, and Parys Mountain, where visitors can enjoy the Copper Mine Trail Walk amidst the old ruins of what was once the world's largest copper mine in the 18th century. Amlwch's harbour dates back to the Middle Ages and once was a thriving port. There is excellent fishing and golf nearby as well as beautiful sandy beaches and spectacular cliff top walks. Enjoy the medieval town of Beaumaris, with its 13th century moated castle, museums, excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, take a day trip into Snowdonia or visit Dublin from the nearby port of Holyhead.

Note: Initial basket of logs provided and they can be purchased at the local garage if more logs needed.
Please note that whilst this cottage no longer takes dog, guests need to be aware that there may be bookings where dogs are present, in case of allergies.
