“Stayed September 2021: The position of this house is fantastic and the accomodation on the whole is lovely BUT like last year's review and this June's review and despite Menai Holidays cottages forwarding me an email from the owner to say repairs had been done this is NOT THE CASE!”

! The downstairs bedroom window is stuck shut. It is very hot and airless overnight in that room. The 2 French doors on to the decking are very hard to open and to lock as you leave near impossible. To be replaced? Or to be oiled? The decking has rough nails recently bashed in to holes where rusted screws have perished and lifted out. We found more screws that just lifted out as you stepped on them. The nail heads are sharp and proud of the decking and not good to walk on, especially for ...

The nail heads are sharp and proud of the decking and not good to walk on, especially for children. A new problem I have not seen in previous reviews is that you can not drain the water from the Ensuite basin, the mechanism is faulty. We did not use that basin after the first wash. Come on SYKES COTTAGES you can get all these problems remedied but should be checked BY YOU, because you assured me they had been done before in July when I asked and they HAVE NOT!! People are paying a lot for this house , they expect simple but annoying problems to be sorted. We loved the position of Cowrie Cottage close to the beach, shop, pub and cafes, and we had a happy family time there but I want people following us to enjoy it its fullest potential.

Overlooking the bay at Rhosneigr, Cowrie Cottage the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset from the spacious living area, or enjoy your morning cuppa on the balcony of the master bedroom - bliss! The living, dining and kitchen space is all open plan. The seating area has a large, comfortable corner sofa and a wood-burning stove to make this space cosier in the colder months.

The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. There is also a dining table and chairs seating up to six people.

A utility room houses the washing machine.

On the ground floor is a twin bedroom. This has easy access to a cloakroom with loo and wash hand basin that’s on the same floor. On the first floor is a master bedroom with balcony and ensuite with a walk in shower, loo and wash hand basin. There are also another two double bedrooms on this floor.

The first floor bathroom consists of a loo, wash hand basin, bath and separate walk-in shower.

Outside you’ll find a lovely terrace or decked area at the front and garden furniture at the back of the house, too. "I have a soft spot for the name and for the house - in a fabulous location where you can walk down to the beach and look for Cowries." The beaches at Rhosneigr are great for families.

They are clean and safe with lovely rock pools, good for making sand castles and a haven for cowrie hunters.

There's a fantastic selection of water sports, or you can just potter about and catch a mackerel. The village centre is a five-minute walk away, with good eating places.

Don't miss the great shop, Gecko, and their gift shop opposite.

This is a really fab holiday house for exploring this corner of North Wales.
