“The cottage is amazing, it had everything we needed.”
There were just a couple of communication issues. We knew from reading previous reviews that the hot tub was an additional £200 to hire. But at the time of booking, and indeed paying the full balance, it was never stated that if we didn’t pay for the hot tub BEFORE arriving, we would have to move heaven and earth with numerous phone calls to Sykes (very helpful) and the owner (not very helpful) to get them to unlock the hot tub. If you pay before, they leave the key… if you don’t you ...

But at the time of booking, and indeed paying the full balance, it was never stated that if we didn’t pay for the hot tub BEFORE arriving, we would have to move heaven and earth with numerous phone calls to Sykes (very helpful) and the owner (not very helpful) to get them to unlock the hot tub. If you pay before, they leave the key… if you don’t you will have to wait till Monday as the hot tub people don’t work on Sundays. Luckily Sykes were very helpful and we finally got a key from the housekeeper who came out on her day off!!
Once at the cottage there is a key box on the windowsill in the kitchen with keys to the outhouse etc… only we didn’t know about it until the housekeeper showed us because it looked like just an ornament… and there is no welcome pack telling you where things are etc…
Aside from that, we had the best stay!! Location is superb and facilities are perfect. Will be booking the cottage again and will be booking with Sykes again to other destinations as they are professional to the core!!!
Hope the hot tub miscommunication gets sorted, it rather ruined my Sunday.
