    We had a mixed party from young adults to elderly The accommodation was amazing with fantastic views and plenty of space to get lost in We had a few niggles the upstairs bathrooms did not have locks on and one of them wouldn’t shut properly We also found the internet incredibly slow and kept dropping Overall we couldn’t recommend this property more

The property

Telford House is a outstanding unique semi-detached property, nestled in mature grounds and situated in an elevated position overlooking the swirling waters of the Menai Straits.

This stunning Menai Straits cottage is within a stone's throw of the magnificent, world famous Menai Suspension Bridge which dominates the view from Anglesey to the Bangor mainland.

With unrivalled Menai Straits water views from every window at the front of the house, including five of the bedrooms, this North Wales holiday home also offers stylish living in every room.

Boasting six large bedrooms, this property is perfect for family and group getaways alike, with plenty of areas to socialise and come together.

Gather in the spacious dining room where you catch up on the day's events while admiring the panoramic sea views providing the backdrop, and a long dining table seating sixteen guests.

Let the children commandeer the snug whilst the adults take over the large sitting room where generous sofas offer somewhere to relax, with a pretty, annexed conservatory being the perfect place to sit and watch the constant boating activity on the swirling tidal waters of the Straits with your morning coffee.

A fitted kitchen boasts all the appliances you need including an electric oven and gas hob, along with granite worktops and a breakfast bar, it offers all you need for your catering requirements.

If you have to bring work on holiday with you, make use second sitting room, or perhaps climb the stairs to the reading area, while the rest of your party spreads out amongst the rest of the living areas or even the music room with a piano, so everyone can enjoy their own space.

The first floor hosts all the bedrooms where you will be catching some well-earned rest; two of which have en-suite facilities, three have Smart TVs, and the rest are serviced by a sleek shower room and a cloakroom back on the ground floor.

Hop into the plush beds after a busy day of exploring and choose from three king-size rooms, a double, a twin and a family bedroom which hosts a double, stairs leading to the second-floor which hosts an emperor bed.

Outside, the landscaped gardens stretch along the river bank to the water's edge and offer great opportunities for exploring and playing, whilst the large patio area, which sweeps around the whole front of the house, is ideal for outside entertaining and alfresco dining.

Telford House retains many original features, such as sash windows, high ceilings and French radiators, as well as stylish art deco and period furnishings, making it a fantastic property to escape from daily life and relax in luxury with friends and family.

If you can tear yourself away from this incredible property, head into Menai Bridge over the water and visit The Menai Bridges Exhibition at the heritage centre before taking a walk in the area, picking up the footpaths along the delightful Belgian Promenade and crossing the Grade I listed bridge over to mainland Wales, before heading to the beautiful Treborth Botanic Garden with extensive grounds to explore.

Enjoy a fun boat ride and delight in seal spotting, or visit the lovely Pili Palas Nature World, great for all ages, while the Anglesey Sea Zoo is further south on the island and is home to over 150 species.

The National Trust’s Plas Newydd House and Penrhyn Castle both make wonderful outings for all the family, with history to discover and extensive grounds to explore.

BANGOR

Menai Bridge 2.5 miles; Beaumaris 7 miles; Caernarfon 10 miles; Llanberis 11 miles.

Bangor is a university town on the North Wales coast with a large range of shops, bars and restaurants. It is the main crossing point for the Isle of Anglesey with two road bridges across the Menai Strait. Across the water, the castle and pier at Beaumaris make a lovely day out, or you can catch a boat to enjoy a trip out to Puffin Island. The Anglesey Coastal Path takes in beautiful scenery, and the island is home to many fine beaches including Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Red Wharf Bay. The NT mansion Plas Newydd is on the island, while on the mainland further NT properties can be found including Penrhyn Castle and Bodnant Gardens. The spectacular mountains and lakes of Snowdonia are just a short drive way, with plenty of castles, beaches and other attractions on offer in this wonderful region. Bangor and the Menai Straits really do offer the best of both worlds!
