About the location

PONTBLYDDYN

Mold 3.6 miles; Wrexham 8.2 miles; Chester 12.4 miles; Snowdonia National Park 29.3 miles

Pontblyddyn is a small, quaint village resting near Leeswood, between Mold and Wrexham. The village famous for Plas Teg, one of the most important Jacobean-era houses in Wales; this Grade I-listed building was built in 1610 and is considered one of the most haunted houses in Wales. The village also boasts a local pub, The Bridge Inn which serves delicious food, ideal for the nights you don’t fancy cooking, and a local convenience store to stock up on essentials. With the Clwyd mountains on your doorstep and the quiet that Pontblyddyn has to offer, the village offers an idyllic retreat to North Wales, as well as a great base for touring the Snowdonia region and Chester. The historic town of Mold is within easy reach of the village, home to Mold Castle and a variety of cafés, restaurants and bars including The Fat Boar and the Queens Head Inn. You could also venture further to Wrexham, home to the National Trust property Erddig, a vast 18th-century manor which offers tours and an ornate 12,000-acre garden; there is also Ty Pawb art gallery and the Eagles Meadow shopping centre with many high street names.
